문학상 제도와 성장 서사의 앙상블

국문 초록

이 연구는 네트워크의 관점에 기대어 청소년문학상 제도가 청소년문학에 미치는 영향을 살피고 있다. 작가와 평론가, 독자와 같은 인간 행위자뿐 아니라 청소년문학상 제도나 매체 등의 비인간 행위자가 연합하여 네트워크를구성하고 있는 양상을 분석하고, 청소년문학의 현재성을 점검하고 전망을 모색해보고자 했다. 이를 위해 최근 5년동안 창비 청소년문학상과 문학동네 청소년문학상, 사계절문학상과 자음과모음 청소년문학상 수상작을 선정한 기준과 ‘당선작 없음’이라는 결정에 담긴 의미가 무엇인지 알아보고, 청소년문학상 수상작들의 특이성을 점검해보았다. 청소년문학상 공모는 작가와 독자, 작품과 출판시장을 매개하고 번역하는 행위자로 기능하는데, 특히 심사의중요한 기준인 ‘새로움’은 ‘당선작 없음’이라는 결정과 앙상블을 이루며 청소년소설의 향방을 이끌고 있다. 그 결과청소년문학상 수상작들은 무엇을 말하는가의 시선이 아닌 어떻게 말하는가에 주목하면서 성장의 개별성을 말하고있다. 수상작들은 첫째, 다양한 소재를 결합한 복수적 의미의 성장 서사를 구축하여 청소년 주인공들이 마주한 세상의 복잡성과 불확실성, 예측불가능성과 우연성을 보여준다. 둘째, 웹툰의 특징을 활용하고 SNS로 소통하는 현실을 적극적으로 모방하며 청소년 주인공들이 보이는 정동으로의 전환을 포착한다.

영문 초록

This study examines the effect of the youth literature award system on youth literature from the perspective of the network. It was intended to analyze not only human actors such as writers, critics, and readers, but also non-human actors such as institutions and media in youth literature, check the presentness of youth literature, and seek prospects. To this end, we looked into the criteria for selecting the Changbi Youth Literature Award, Munhakdongne Youth Literature Award, Four Seasons Literature Award, Consonant and Vowel Youth Literature Award, and the meaning of the decision to “no winning” and checked the uniqueness of the youth literature awards. The Youth Literature Award contest functions as an actor who mediates and translates writers and readers, works and publishing markets. In particular, “Novelty,” an important criterion for screening, is leading the direction of youth novels by forming an ensemble with the decision of “no winning works.” As a result, the winners of the Youth Literature Award speak of the individuality of growth, paying attention to how they speak, not to what they say. First, the award-winning works show the complexity, uncertainty, unpredictability, and coincidence of the world faced by youth protagonists by constructing a narrative of growth with multiple meanings that combines various materials. Second, it actively imitates the reality of using the characteristics of webtoons and communicating through SNS, and captures the transition to affection, where youth protagonists are seen.
