한국어교육에서의 웹드라마를 활용한 문화 및 화용 교육 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 웹드라마의 교육적 활용 가능성과 문화와 화용 간의 긴밀한 연관성에 주목하여 <오피스워치 시즌1> 을 바탕으로 한 문화 및 화용 교육 방안을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 먼저 해당 작품에서 눈치, 나이, 팬덤/덕질, 고백 문화의 ‘일상문화’ 요소, 호칭어, 상대높임법 등급의 혼용, 애교, 코드스위칭의 ‘언어문화’ 요소, 명령 화행, 거절 화행, 대화의 함축, 칭찬 응답 화행의 ‘화용’ 요소를 도출하여 분석하였다. 그 후 해당 작품을 활용한 교육 방안을 온라인 사전 학습, 오프라인 교실 수업, 온라인 후속 학습으로 나누어 제안하였다. 학습자는 ‘온라인 사전 학습’에서 개별적으로 영상을 시청하며 줄거리를 파악한 후에 ‘오프라인 교실 수업’에 참여하여 한국의 일상문화, 언어문화, 화용 요소를 학습하고 이를 자국의 문화 및 화용과 비교하게 된다. ‘온라인 후속 학습’ 에서는 문화 보고서를 작성하고 화행 전략의 적용을 연습하는 것으로 나아간다. 이러한 교육 방안은 학습자의 학습 동기와 흥미를 유발하고 한국 문화에 대한 깊은 이해를 도모하며 그들의 성공적인 의사소통 수행을 도울 것으로 기대된다. 아울러 한국어교육 분야에서 웹드라마를 활용한 문화 및 화용 교육을 다룬 연구의 수가 드물다는점을 고려했을 때 본 연구의 의의가 증대된다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on the close relationship between culture and pragmatics and the potential of web-dramas for their utilization in educational settings. The goal of this study is to propose a Korean language educational model for culture and pragmatics based on the first season of the web-drama series “Office Watch.” In order to accomplish this goal, this study extracts and analyzes three types of elements found in the series, which are (1) commonplace cultural aspects such as nunchi, age, fandom/fangirling, and confession culture, (2) sociolinguistic elements such as terms of address, mixed usage of honorific levels, aegyo, code-switching, and (3) pragmatic elements such as command speech act, refusal speech act, conversational implicature, and complimentresponse speech act. Next, the study suggests educational proposals which use web-dramas, categorizing them as online pre-learning, offline classroom learning, and online follow-up learning. Through the online pre-learning, students watch videos individually and follow the plot and narrative themselves. Afterward, they participate in an offline classroom, gaining an understanding of cultural, sociolinguistic, and pragmatic aspects of Korean culture and compare these elements with the cultures from their home country. Lastly, through the online follow-up learning course, students write reports about Korean culture and apply the speech-act strategies learned in class to real-life situations. This educational proposal aims to stimulate students’ interest and raise motivation in their studies while encouraging a deep understanding of Korean culture and their successful communication. The fact that the Korean language education field currently lacks culture- and pragmatics-based studies using web-dramas further adds significance to this research.
