코로나19 이후, 홍대 인디음악 씬에 나타난 라이브 공연 문화의 하이브리드적 속성 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 코로나19 이후, 전 세계적으로 라이브 공연 방식의 패러다임이 전환되고 있는 시점에서 홍대 인디음악 생태계와 연관된 의미연결망 구조가 어떠한 속성의 네트워크를 형성하고 있으며, 클러스터를 이루고 있는지를소셜 네트워크 분석을 통해 알아보고자 하였다. 또한 이러한 네트워크의 구조적 맥락을 파악하여 코로나19 이후, 홍대 인디음악 씬에 나타나고 있는 라이브 공연 문화의 하이브리드적 속성을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 ‘홍대’와 ‘인디’를 수집 키워드로 설정하였으며, 네이버(Naver), 다음(Daum), 구글(Google) 채널을 대상으로 국내 코로나19가 처음으로 발생했던 시점인 2020년 1월 20일부터 2022년 1월 20일까지의 총 2년간의 데이터를 크롤링하였다. 다음으로 텍스톰(TEXTOM) 을 활용해 데이터 정제 및 TF-IDF 기반 빈도분석을 실시하였으며, ‘UCINET6 프로그램’과 ‘NetDraw’를 통해 ‘홍대’, ‘인디’ 관련 주요 중심성 및 클러스터를 분석하여 네트워크의구조적인 맥락을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. TF-IDF 기반 빈도분석 결과, 가장 높은 빈도수를 가진 핵심어는 ‘공연’으로 나타났으며, 연결 중심성 분석 결과로는 ‘홍대’가 가장 높은 연결 정도 중심성을 도출하였다. 무엇보다도 ‘온라인’이 빈도분석 결과보다 더 높은 연결 중심성의 값을 보여주고 있다는 점에서, 홍대 인디음악의 ‘온라인’화가 코로나19 이후, 중앙집중적으로 형성되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 근접 중심성 분석 결과로는 코로나19 이후, 홍대 지역의 경계를 벗어나 라이브 공연이나 예술 활동을 이어나가는 탈영역화 현상을 보이고 있으며 공공기관, 방송국 및 기업에서 운영하는 디지털 공간 기반의 플랫폼을 활용하여 라이브 공연을 수행하고 있는 모습들이 나타났다. CONCOR 분석 결과로는, 홍대 인디음악 생태계 주체들은 COVID-19 발생 이후, 실제 공연 공간과 디지털 기술이 매개된 가상 공간 영역을 자유자재로 가로지르며 하이브리드된 새로운 라이브 공연 방식들을 시도하고 있음을 파악할 수있었다. COVID-19 이후 홍대 인디음악 생태계 구성원들의 활동은 홍대 주변의 소규모 공연장 내부에 다양한 장비(equipment) 및 디지털 기술(DT)을 적용함으로써 공연 공간의 가변성을 만들어내고 있으며, 공공기관 방송국기업 등을 매개한 플랫폼 공간과 실제 공연 공간 영역을 유영하며 라이브 공연 문화를 구축하고 있다는 것이 본연구에서 괄목할 만한 지점이다. 이러한 연구 결과를 참고하여 코로나19라는 재난이 가져온 홍대 인디음악 생태계의 하이브리드된 라이브 공연 행태를 파악하고, 팬데믹 시대에 요구되는 소규모 공연장의 법적 규제 및 새로운 문화정책 의제를 발굴하여 홍대 지역의 라이브 공연 문화가 지속가능성을 유지할 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was attempted to find out through social network analysis what attribute the semantic network structure related to the Hongdae indie music scene forms and clusters at a time when the paradigm of live performance is shifting around the world after COVID-19. In addition, by grasping the structural context of these networks, we tried to analyze the hybrid properties of the live performance culture appearing in the Hongdae indie music scene after COVID-19. For this purpose, ‘Hongdae’ and ‘Indie’ were set as collection keywords, and data for a total of two years from January 20, 2020, when COVID-19 first occurred in Korea, were crawled into Naver, Daum, and Google channels. Next, data purification and TF-IDF-based frequency analysis using ‘TEXTOM’ were performed. The main centrality and clusters related to ‘Hongdae’ and ‘Indie’ were analyzed through ‘UCINET6 Program’ and ‘NetDraw’ to investigate the structural context of the network. The research results are as follows. As a result of TF-IDF-based frequency analysis, ‘performance’ was the most frequent keyword, and ‘Hongdae’ was the highest connection value as a result of degree centrality analysis. Above all, ‘online’ shows a higher value of degree centrality than the results of frequency analysis, indicating that ‘online’ of Hongdae indie music has been formed since COVID-19. As a result of closeness centrality analysis, there has been a phenomenon of deterritorialization in which live performances and artistic activities continue beyond the boundaries of the Hongdae area after COVID-19, and live performances using digital space-based platforms run by public institutions, broadcasting stations, and companies. As a result of CONCOR analysis, it was found that after the outbreak of COVID-19, the subjects of the Hongdae indie music ecosystem have been freely trying new hybrid live performance methods by crossing the real and virtual space areas mediated by digital technology. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, members of the Hongdae indie music scene have applied various equipment and digital technology(DT) inside small performance halls around Hongdae to create variability in performance spaces and have been swimming in platform spaces and actual performance spaces. By referring to these research results, it is necessary to identify the hybrid live performance behavior of the Hongdae indie music scene brought about by the COVID-19 disaster and to discover legal regulations and new cultural policy agendas required in the pandemic era to maintain sustainability.
