융합으로 본 한국풍수의 인본사상

국문 초록

신적 존재인 환웅이나 지상적 존재인 곰이 모두가 인간세상을 동경하고 마침내 뜻을 실현한다는 것은 <단군신화>가 지닌 휴머니즘적 특성이라 할 수 있다. 또한 백성들은 살아가면서 “천지간 만물 중에 사람밖에 또 있는가.” 라고 읊조림으로서 인간의 존엄을 고조시켜왔다. 이와 같이 한국문화의 핵심적 가치를 人本思想에서 찾을 수 있다. 서양인들이 “조선인들의 특성은 조선인들을 현대문명의 이기주의로 인하여 침해된 다른 나라 국민들의 훨씬 위에 서게 하는 소이가 된다.”고 보는 점도 한국문화를 人本思想으로 이해하는 데 일조한다. 자연을 대상으로 삼는 우리의 전통적 풍수관에서도 한국인이 지닌 강력한 인간 존중의 사고를 엿볼 수 있다. <단군신화>에서 알 수 있듯이 ‘널리 사람들을 유익하게 해준다’는 人本思想的 가치를 ‘태백산 신단수 밑’이라는風水的 길지 선택으로 구현하고자 했던 의도는 시사하는 바가 크다. 일반적으로 언급되는 풍수 구성의 3요소(산, 물, 방위)에 한국의 풍수 관련서들에서, ‘사람(인심)’을 추가 또는 강조하는 것도 예사롭지 않다. 한 마디로 한국전통 풍수관의 본질은 人本思想에 있다고 해도 무리가 없을 것이다. 한편 우리는 동양의 관계론적 사유에서 유로되는 融合정신을 어느 나라보다도 중시하며 지켜왔다. 풍수에서도‘음양과 오행’을 비롯하여 특히 裨補 등에 이르기까지 융합적 접근이 설득력이 있음을 알게 된다. 조선시대 이전까지 우리의 풍수문화는 철학적인 理法풍수와 외형중시의 形法풍수가 조화를 이루었으며, 삼국통일 이후 전개된 陽 宅풍수 중심에서 조선시대에는 陰宅풍수에 대한 관심이 더 컸음도 융합적 관점의 의의를 강화한다고 볼 수 있다. 이밖에도 科學과 信仰 등 한국의 풍수관에 내포된 융합의 요소는 상당하다. 자연과 자연, 자연과 인간, 인간과 인간이라는 풍수적 조건, 즉 融合의 방식으로 접근하여 전통풍수에 내포된人本思想을 규명하는 논의는 찾아보기 힘들었던 만큼 한국의 人本主義的 풍수의 특징을 融合的 방법론을 통해서고찰해 보았다.

영문 초록

It can be said that it is a humanistic characteristic of Dangun Mythology that both Hwanwoong, a divine being, and a bear, a terrestrial being, admire the human world and finally realizes its will. In addition, the people have heightened human dignity by reciting, Is there no one else but people among all things in heaven and earth? As such, the core value of Korean culture can be found in humanism. The fact that Westerners see Korean people as “the characteristics of Koreans are sources of making Koreans stand far above the people of other countries infringed by the selfishness of modern civilization” also contributes to understand Korean culture as a humanism. In our traditional feng shui view of nature, we can also get a glimpse of the strong human respect of Koreans. As can be seen from , the intention to realize the humanism value of “making people beneficial” by choosing the feng shui based land “under the Sindansoo of Taebaeksan” is highly suggestive. It is also unusual to add or emphasize ‘people’ in Korean feng shui-related books in the three elements (mountain, water and generosity) of feng shui composition commonly mentioned. In short, it would not be unreasonable to say that the essence of the traditional Korean feng shui is in humanism. Meanwhile, we have maintained the spirit of convergence in Eastern relational thinking, placing more importance than any other country. In feng shui, it is found that the convergent approach, including “Yin and yang and five elements” is persuasive. Until the Joseon Dynasty, our feng shui culture was in harmony with philosophical feng shui and external-oriented feng shui, and the greater interest in feng shui developed after the unification of the three kingdoms during the Joseon Dynasty can be seen as strengthening the significance of a convergent perspective. In addition, there are considerable elements of convergence included in the Korean feng shui, such as science and faith. As it was difficult to find discussions on the feng shui conditions of nature, nature and humans, that is, humans and humans, to identify the human feng shui implied in traditional feng shui, I considered the characteristics of Korea’s human feng shui through the convergence methodology.
