온라인 화상 수업에서의 교수자-학습자 소통 활성화 방안 연구

국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 코로나-19의 위급한 상황에서 온라인 비대면 교수-학습 환경을 맞이해야 했던 글쓰기 교육현장의 다양한 경험을 바탕으로 그 한계를 분석하고 대안을 마련하는 것이다. 지난 2년간 어느 대학의 글쓰기 강의 과정에서 얻은 설문자료, 강의평가 및 면담자료를 통해 ‘온-택트’ 강의의 문제점들을 보완함과 동시에 온라인강의의 장점을 전유하고자 하는 시도인 셈이다. 이를 위해 본 작업은 비대면 환경에서 글쓰기 학습자가 체감하는가장 큰 어려움이 상호작용의 부족과 현장감 부재라는 점을 확인하면서 교수자-학습자 간 소통을 촉진하는 실시간 활동과 동시적 피드백에 주목하였다. 필자는 네트워크 플랫폼의 소통 기능을 실제 강의에 적용하면서 경험한다양한 사례와 학습자들부터 획득한 의견과 반응을 정리하면서 온라인 플랫폼 기반 글쓰기 수업의 효용성을 짚고자 한다. 결국 이 논문이 확인하고자 하는 것은 온라인 수업과 연동된 다양한 도구와 장치들을 활용함으로써 대면 강의를 대체하는 단순 용도 그 이상으로 비대면 화상 수업을 전유할 수 있는가이다. 연구 결과 학습자들이 온라인 공간의 가장 큰 어려움으로 꼽은 상호작용과 현장감 부재를 극복할 방안으로 실시간 활동과 동시적인 피드백이 유효하다는 사실을 확인하였다. 오랜 비대면 수업에서 학생들이 겪고 있는 피로감과 산만함을 극복하기 위해 필자는 일련의 글쓰기 과정을 실시간 활동으로 설계하고 과제를 실시간 대면으로 가져오고자 했다. 구체적인 실천으로 실시간 채널, 화면 공유 기능, 채팅창의 활용 등의 방법이 도입되고, 그 결과 집중력과 몰입감의 상승, 교수-학습자, 학습자-학습자의 소통과 참여가 상승하는 결과를 확인할 수 있었다. 그동안 온라인 수업의 한계에 가려졌던 온라인 강의의 가능성, 그리고 팬데믹과 비대면 수업이 반복될 것이라는전망은 비대면 온라인 공간을 기존과는 다른 시선으로 바라보게 하였다. 지금은 집중력이 떨어지고 원활한 소통이곤란한 비대면 온라인 수업을 개선할 구체적인 실천이 필요한 시점이다. 이러한 맥락에서 ‘온-택트’ 강의가 지닌 장점들을 활용함으로써 ‘뉴노멀’이 될 수 있을 화상 강의의 모델을 찾고자 하는 이 연구가 모종의 의의를 가질 수있기를 바란다.

영문 초록

This thesis is interested in supplementing the limitations of non-face-to-face online classes and enhancing the effectiveness of online lectures based on various experiences in the field of writing education in the teaching-learning environment changed after the declaration of the pandemic. To this end, this paper has come to the conclusion that the biggest difficulties experienced by writing learners in non-face-to-face environments are the lack of interaction and lack of presence. In the process of finding ways to overcome these problems, the author paid attention to realtime activities and simultaneous feedback that would facilitate communication between instructors and learners. He tried to confirm the effectiveness of such activities through data obtained from multiple lecture sites and students. He utilized the real-time channel tool, screen sharing function, and comment window etc., and analyzed the effects these devices had on students. The possibility of online lectures, which have been hidden by the limitations of online classes, and the prospect that pandemics and non-face-to-face classes will be repeated, make the nonface- to-face online space look different from the existing ones. This thesis is to explore what alternatives the writing lecture can use in the situation of COVID-19. Now is the time to take concrete action to improve non-face-to-face online classes where concentration and smooth communication are difficult. It is hoped that this study will be meaningful in this context.
