국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 Design Thinking의 개념 형성 과정에 대한 고찰을 통해 Design Thinking의 의미를 재음미하고자 하였다. 방법 Design Thinking에 대한 다양한 문헌을 검토하여 해당 논문의 내용들을 개념의 시작, 반동, 용어 및 의미의 형성, 의미의 확장 등 제 단계의 흐름으로 분류하고, 이러한 Design Thinking의 형성 및 발전과정에 대한 전체적인 검토를 통해 Design Thinking의 의미를 종합적으로 파악하고자 하였다. 결과 연구의 결과는 첫째, Design Thinking은 1960년대 말경 문제해결을 위한 과학적 방법론으로서의 design 개념에서 출발하여, 1970년대 이에 대한 반동과 보완을 거친 후, 1980년대 학문적 디자인 개념을 거쳐 마침내 Lowe에 의해 Design Thinking으로 용어의 형식화를 이루었다. 2000년대 이후에는 Martin과 Brown 등에 의해 디자이너적 사고를 활용하여 기업의 난제들을 효과적으로 처리하고 혁신을 이끄는 경영적 능력으로 의미가 확장되었다. 둘째, 이러한 개념화의 과정에서 Design Thinking은 디자인과 경영이라는 두 가지 담론으로 발전하였고, 실행⋅사고 유형⋅심적 태도의 세 가지 구성 측면을 포함하였으며, 삶의 비구조화된 문제에 대해 다양한 인지적 방식을 통한 학제적 접근과, 학습자 친화적 방식을 통해 최선의 해결방안 도출을 지향하는 특성 등을 포괄하게 되었다. 셋째, 이러한 Design Thinking의 개념 형성 및 의미 확장 과정은 Design Thinking이 인간 중심의 전체적 접근법이며, 혁신을 일으킬 수 있는 고차 사고력으로서의 성격을 가짐을 시사하였다. 결론 이러한 점들을 고려해 볼 때 Design Thinking은 실험적이고 탐험적이며 긍정적인 태도를 바탕으로, 시각화와 실천과 협력을 통해 다양한 추론 및 반성적 재구성의 인지 과정을 학제적으로 실행하여 개인 및 조직의 어렵고 복잡한 실제 문제에 대해 최선의 해결방안을 이끌어내는 인간중심 및 전체적 접근 방식의 고차 사고력이라 재정의 될 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study tried to reexamine the meaning of Design Thinking by examining the concept formation process of Design Thinking. Methods By reviewing various literatures on Design Thinking, the contents of the thesis are classified into the flow of each stage, such as the beginning of a concept, reaction, formation of terms and meanings, and expansion of meaning, and overall review of the formation and development of Design Thinking Through this, we tried to understand the meaning of Design Thinking comprehensively. Results First, Design Thinking started with the concept of design as a scientific methodology for problem solving in the late 1960s, went through reaction and supplementation in the 1970s, went through the academic design concept in the 1980s, and finally became Design Thinking by Lowe. formalized the term. After the 2000s, by Martin and Brown et al., the meaning was extended to the managerial ability to effectively deal with corporate difficulties and lead innovation by using designer thinking. Second, In the process of conceptualization, Design Thinking developed into two discourses, design and management, and included three aspects of construction: execution, thinking type, and mental attitude. and the interdisciplinary approach through various cognitive methods to the unstructured problems of life and the characteristics of seeking the best solution through a learner-friendly method have been included. Third, this process of concept formation and meaning expansion of Design Thinking suggested that Design Thinking is a human-centered holistic approach and has a character as a higher-order thinking ability that can innovate. Conclusions Considering these points, Design Thinking can be redefined as a Higher-order thinking of human-centered and holistic approach that draws the best solution to difficult and complex real problems of individuals and organizations by interdisciplinary executing the cognitive process of various reasoning and reflective reconstruction through visualization, practice, and cooperation, based on an experimental, exploratory, and positive attitude.
