국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 환경에 관한 부모교육프로그램을 개발하기 위한 기초자료로서 영유아 자녀를 둔 부모의 환경보전에 관한 인식과 실천을 부모 배경 변인에 따라 살펴보는 것이다. 방법 본 연구는 광주광역시의 영유아 자녀를 둔 부모 10명을 대상으로 예비조사를 시행한 후, 광주광역시와 전라남도에 있는 유아교육기관에 다니는 영유아 자녀를 둔 부모 393명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 시행하였다. 자료는 빈도분석과 t test, 일원변량분석, scheffé 검증 등으로 분석되었다. 결과 영유아 자녀를 둔 부모의 환경보전 인식이 환경보전 실천이나 환경교육 경험보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 유아교육기관 유형과 부모의 학력, 직업, 자녀 수 등에서 환경보전에 관한 부모의 인식과 실천이 유의한 차이를 보였다. 학력이 높고, 전문직에 종사하고, 자녀가 많은 부모일수록 환경보전에 대해 잘 인식하고 실천하는 것으로 나타났다. 이처럼 부모 배경 변인에 따라 환경보전에 관한 부모의 인식과 실천이 다르게 나타나므로 환경에 관한 부모교육프로그램은 부모의 특성을 고려하여 개발되는 것이 요구된다. 결론 본 연구는 현시점에서 환경보전에 관한 부모의 인식과 실천을 살펴봄으로써 변화한 시대적⋅사회적 상황을 반영한 부모교육프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The study aims to examine the perception and action of parents with young children on environmental preservation according to parents’ background parameters, as basic data to develop a parent education program about the environment. Methods This study conducted preliminary survey for 10 parents with young children in Gwangju metropolitan city. After preliminary survey, this study conducted survey research. The subjects were 393 parents with young children attending preschools and kindergartens in Gwangju metropolitan city and JeollaNamdo. This study analyzed data using frequency analysis, t test, analysis of variance, and scheffé test. Results The scores of the perception on environmental preservation were higher than the scores of the action of environmental preservation or the experience of environmental education. The perception and action of parents with young children on environmental preservation showed meaningful differences according to early childhood institutions, parents’ academic background, job, and child quantity. Parents, who had higher academic background, worked in a professional field, and had more children, perceived and practiced better. This means that a parent education program about the environment should be developed considering parents’ characteristics because the perception and action of parents with young children are different according to parents’ background parameters. Conclusions It is significant that this study provides basic data to develop a parent education program about the environment reflecting periodic and social changes, by examining the perception and action of parents with young children on environmental preservation here and now.
