국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 한 중년여성의 성차별 경험인 ‘나’에 대한 성차별 경험과 분투에 대한 과정을 주제로 하였다. 이러한 ‘나’라는 한 개인이 경험한 성차별을 통해 성차별과 관련된 사회적인 문제를 조망해보고자 하였다. 또한 ‘나’라는 연구 참여자가 가족의 변화 안에서 성차별을 극복하고 분투하는 과정을 자문화 기술지로 정리하였다. 본 연구를 통해서 비슷한 경험을 한 중년여성들의 성차별적인 삶을 이해하고 그 경험의 한 과정에서 어떠한 어려움이 있었는지 알아보기 위함을 목적으로 두었다. 방법 이 연구의 목적을 위하여 연구자인 ‘나’를 연구대상으로 삼아 자문화기술지를 연구 방법으로 적용하였다. 이에 본 연구자의 성차별에 관한 경험과 기억자료, 공동연구자 및 박사과정 동기들의 피드백, 자녀와 남편과의 대화자료, 부모님과 지인들과의 회상자료 등을 자료로 정리하였다. 이 자료를 검증하고자 연구자가 성차별 속에서 분투하고 성찰하며 변화하는 과정을 분석한 후, 이를 다시 질적 자료로 변환하는 코딩작업을 진행하였다. 또한 본 연구 결과의 적합한 신뢰도와 타당도에 대한 분석과정은 삼각검증 방법을 통해 신뢰도와 타당도를 확보하였다. 결과 이를 수행한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째는 가부장적 문화에서 부당한 성차별을 경험함으로 도출된 ‘성차별 경험의 씨앗을 목격한 나’이다. 둘째는 가부장제 속에서 분투하며 인식 전환 과정에서 많은 고민과 갈등을 통해 성찰을 경험하는 ‘성차별과 대면하는 나’이다. 셋째는 변화와 성장을 통해 주체적인 삶을 향해 계속 도전과 노력을 하는 ‘삶의 연속선상에서 희망을 품음’이다. 결론 문제해결에 앞서 필요한 것은 문제가 있다는 것을 인식하는 것이다. 따라서 여성들이 단지 여성이라는 이유만으로 차별 경험을 하게 될 때 이에 대한 부당함을 알리고 적극적으로 대처하기 위해서 성찰과 사회 재인식이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Objectives The subject of this study was the process of a middle-aged woman s experience of sexism and struggle with ‘I’, the experience of sexism. Through the sex discrimination experienced by an individual, such as ‘I’, the social issues related to gender discrimination were reported and reported. In addition, Nara summarized the process of the study participants overcoming gender discrimination and struggles within the family change in a self-culture descriptive paper. The purpose of this study was to understand the sexist lives of middle-aged women who had similar experiences and to find out what difficulties they encountered in the process of that experience. Methods For the purpose of this study, the auto-ethnobiograpy was used as a research method by using the researcher as the research subject. The researchers experiences and memories of sexism, feedback from co-researchers and doctoral students, conversations with children and husbands, and recollections of parents and acquaintances were summarized as data. In order to verify this data the researcher analyzed how the researcher changed by struggling with sexism and introspection and later converted this process into qualitative data by coding. The data collection and analysis process s validity and credibility was ensured by triangulation. Results The results of this study are as follows. The first is ‘Witnessing the seed of sexism’, which is derived from the unfair experience of patriarchal culture. Second is ‘Facing sexism’ by struggling and having conflicts in patriarchy and having introspection in the process of changing perception. Third is ‘having hope in the continuum of life’ by changing and maturing through facing challenges and striving towards independent life. Conclusions The prerequisite of solving a problem is to recognizing the existence of a problem. Therefore in order to expose and actively cope with the unjust discrimination due to gender, women must introspect themselves and change their perception of society.
