국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 부모의 부정적 양육태도와 청소년의 자아존중감, 학업무기력 및 우울 간 관계를 검증하기 위해 수행되었다. 방법 이를 위하여 2018한국아동⋅청소년패널조사(KCYPS)의 중1패널 데이터의 2차년도 자료(남 1,318명, 여 1,120명)를 대상으로 구조방정식 모형을 적용하였다. 특히, 연구모형의 적합도를 검증하기 위하여 χ2값과 TLI, CFI, RMSEA 값을 종합적으로 검토하였으며, 매개효과를 확인하기 위해 Shrout와 Bolger(2002)이 제안한 Bootstrapping 절차를 따랐다. 또한 최종모형의 남녀 집단 간 차이를 검증하기 위하여 성별 다집단 동등성 검증을 실시하였다. 결과 분석결과 첫째, 부모의 부정적 양육태도는 자아존중감에 유의한 부적 영향을 미치고, 학업무기력과 우울에 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자아존중감은 학업무기력과 우울에 유의한 부적 영향을 미쳤으며, 학업무기력은 우울에 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모의 부정적 양육태도와 청소년의 우울 간 관계에서 자아존중감 및 학업무기력의 단일매개효과와 순차적 매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 다집단 동등성 검증을 실시한 결과, 모든 경로에서 경로동일성이 확보되었으나, 남자 청소년집단은 여자 청소년집단에 비해 학업무기력이 우울에 보다 강력한 영향을 미치고, 여자 청소년집단은 남자 청소년집단에 비해 자아존중감이 학업무기력에, 자아존중감이 우울에 보다 강력한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구는 부모의 부정적 양육태도와 청소년의 우울 간 관계에서 자아존중감과 학업무기력의 순차적 매개효과를 확인하였으며, 교육과 상담 장면에서 성별 차별화된 방안이 필요함을 제시하였다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study was conducted to examine the relationship between negative parenting attitudes, adolescents self-esteem, academic helplessness and depression. Methods To this end, data from the second year of the 1st panel data of the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) 2018 were used and analyzed. In particular, the χ2 value, TLI, CFI, and RMSEA values were comprehensively reviewed to verify the fit of the research model, and the bootstrapping procedure suggested by Shrout and Bolger (2002) was followed to confirm the mediating effect. In addition, in order to verify the differences between the boys and girls groups in the final model, multi-group equivalence verification was performed by gender. Results The results of this study are as follows. First, it was found that negative parenting attitude had a significant negative effect on self-esteem and a significant positive effect on academic helplessness and depression. Also, it was found that self-esteem had a significant negative effect on academic helplessness and depression, and academic helplessness had a significant positive effect on depression. Second, the single mediating and sequential mediating effects of self-esteem and academic helplessness were found to be significant in the relationship between negative parenting attitude and depression in adolescents. Third, as a result of multi-group equivalence verification, path equivalence was secured in all paths. However, in the boys group, academic helplessness had a stronger effect on depression than the girls group, and in the girls group, self-esteem had a stronger effect on academic helplessness and self-esteem had a stronger effect on depression than the boys group. Conclusions This study is significant in that it confirmed the sequential mediating effect of self-esteem and academic helplessness in the relationship between negative parenting attitudes and depression in adolescents, and suggested that a gender-differentiated method is needed in the field of education and counseling.
