초등학생의 공격성과 지각된 인기의 종단적 관계

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 초등학생의 학기초 공격성이 학기말 지각된 인기에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고, 학급의 학기초 또래 공동체 의식과 친구관계 집중화도가 학기초 공격성과 학기말 지각된 인기관계를 조절하는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 방법 서울과 경기지역에 위치한 초등학교에 재학 중인 초등학교 3-6학년 1,404명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 학생수준 변인인 공격성과 지각된 인기는 또래지명을 통해 측정하였고, 학급수준 변인인 또래 공동체 의식은 학생들이 지각한 또래 공동체 의식의 학급 평균으로, 학급의 친구관계 집중화도는 또래네트워크 방법을 사용하였다. 결과 학생수준에서 학기초 관계적 공격성은 학기말 지각된 인기와 부적인 관련성을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 학급수준에서는 학기 초 또래 공동체 의식이 학기말 지각된 인기에 정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 학기초 관계적 공격성과 학기말 지각된 인기의 단기 종단적 관계를 학기초 또래 공동체 의식과 친구관계의 집중화도가 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 요약하면, 학기초 학급의 공동체 의식이 높을 수록, 친구관계 집중화도가 낮을수록 학기초 관계적 공격성과 학기말 지각된 인기의 관계가 부적인 경향을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구는 학급 구성원간의 친밀성과 유대감, 평등한 친구관계가 건강한 또래생태의 중요한 요인임을 시사하며, 연구결과를 토대로 긍정적인 사회화 맥락을 형성하기 위한 교사의 학급실천에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study investigated the prospective associations of aggression at the beginning of the school semester and perceived popularity at the end of school semester with the sample of 1,404 grade 3rd to 6th students in elementary school using Multi-Level Analysis. In addition, the study the contextual effects of peer community and friendship centralization in the prospective associations of aggression and popularity. Methods At student level, aggression and perceived popularity were measured through peer nominations. At classroom level, peer community consciousness was measured by aggregating the individual students’ a sense of peer community. Friendship centralization was measured by peer network survey. Results The results indicated that at the student level, relational aggression at the beginning of the semester was negatively related to perceived popularity at the end of the semester. At the class level, peer community was positively associated with perceived popularity at the end of semester, Moreover, peer community and friendship centralization moderated the prospective associations of relational aggression and perceived popularity. Conclusions According to our findings, higher peer community and lower friendship centralization mitigated the prospective associations of relational aggression and perceived popularity. This finding suggests that intimacy among peers and egalitarian friendship serves a crucial factor to foster health classroom peer ecology.
