예비교사의 보육실습 경험을 통한 영아교사의 역할과 자질에 대한 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 영아반 보육실습 경험을 통해 예비보육교사들이 영아교사의 역할과 자질에 대해 어떠한 인식을 형성하는지 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구참여자는 D시의 4년제 대학에서 영아반 보육실습을 수행한 4학년 학생 15명이다. 자료의 수집은 2019 년 4월부터 6월까지 연구참여자들과의 심층면담, 연구참여자들이 작성한 실습일지와 반성적 저널 등을 통해 이루어졌다. 연구결과 첫째, 예비교사들은 영아교사의 양육자로서의 역할로 제 2의 엄마, 생활지도 및 안전과 건강관리 등의 역할을 인식하였으며, 교수자로서의 역할로 수업의 계획과 실행, 평가, 환경구성 등의 역할을 인식하였다. 둘째, 예비교사들은 영아교사의 전문적 자질로 영아의 발달수준에 적합한 교수활동하기, 영아의 개별적 욕구에 민감하게 반응하기, 영아의 자율성을 격려하기, 긍정적인 언어 상호작용하기, 넓은 시야를 갖고 빠른 대처하기, 교사로서 보람과 사명감 갖기등을 인식하였다. 한편, 영아교사의 개인적 자질로는 기다려주기, 감정 다루기, 안정감 갖기, 단호하기, 체력 관리하기 등을 인식하였다. 본 연구는 예비교사들의 관점에서 영아교사의 역할과 자질에 대한 경험을 분석함으로써 교사 양성과정에서 전문성을 갖춘 영아교사를 양성하기 위한 방향을 제시하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore pre-service teachers’ perceptions about roles and qualities of infant teachers through childcare practice experiences. The participants of study were 15 students who have six weeks of childcare practice in infant classes. They participated in in-depth interviews with semi-structured questionnaires. Data were also collected from participants’ diaries about childcare practice and reflective journals. The results of a qualitative analysis were as follows. First, pre-service childcare teachers recognized the role of a second mother, guidance, safety and health care as the caregiver and the role of planning, conducting and evaluating a lesson, and organizing the classroom environment as the instructor. Second, pre-service teachers recognized teaching activities suitable for the developmental level of infants, being responsive to the individual needs of infants, encouraging the autonomy of infants, interacting with positive language, dealing with them quickly with broad vision, and having a sense of rewarding and mission as professional qualities of the infant teacher. And they recognized the individual qualities of the infant teacher such as waiting, handling emotions, having a sense of stability, being resolute, and managing physical strength. This study provided directions for the development of infant teachers with expertise in the teacher training course.
