대학수업에서 플립러닝 교수법의 효과성 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 최근에 널리 확산되고 있는 대학수업에서의 플립러닝 교수법의 효과성을 검증하였다. 선행연구를 통해 플립러닝 교수법의 효과성 관련 네 가지 가설을 설정하였으며, 이들 가설을 검증하기 위해 백석대학교 교수 1인에 의해 2018년 1학기와 2학기에 각각 진행된 두 가지 다른 유형의 경찰학개론 수업(플립러닝 수업 vs 강의식수업)에 참여한 학생들의 성별, 학년, 성적, 만족도 관련 자료가 수집되었다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 플립러닝 수업과 강의식 수업이 비교분석 되었으며 이를 위해 t 검정과 평균분석이 활용되었다. 연구를 통해 다음과 같은 네 가지 사실을 발견하였다. 첫째, 강의식 수업과 플립러닝 수업의 학습효과는 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 플립러닝 수업에서 여학생이 남학생에 비해 학습효과가 높았다. 셋째, 플립러닝 수업에서 저학년과 고학년 간에 학습효과의 차이는 없었다. 마지막으로, 강의식 수업이 플립러닝 수업에 비해 학생만족도가 높았다. 이러한 결과는 플립러닝 수업이 유행처럼 번지고 있다 하여 이를 무조건 따라하는 것은 바람직하지 않을 수도 있으며, 여학생의 수업효과를 끌어올리려 한다면 강의식 수업보다는 플립러닝 수업이 효과적일 수 있다는 것을 제안한다.

영문 초록

This study examines the effectiveness of flipped learning in university class which has been widely diffused recently. Four hypotheses about the effectiveness of flipped learning were designated through the review of previous research. To test each hypothesis, several information including gender, academic year, grade, student satisfaction of the students who participated in the different types of teaching method (flipped learning vs traditional lecture) which a professor in Baekseok University gave. The flipped learning and the traditional lecture were analyzed comparatively by using t-test and average analysis. Four results were found as follows through the research. First, the learning effect between the traditional lecture class and the flipped learning class was not different. Second, the learning effect of female students was higher than the learning effect of male students in the flipped learning class. Third, there was no difference in learning effectiveness between the lower academic year students and the upper academic year students in the flipped learning class. Finally, the student satisfaction of the traditional lecture class was higher than the student satisfaction of the flipped learning class. These results suggest that it may not be desirable to select flipped learning as a teaching method unconditionally although flipped learning is spreading like a fashion and flipped learning class can be more effective than traditional lecture class to raise the learning effect of the female students.
