국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 부모의 자녀학대를 발견한 어린이집 보육교직원이 아동학대 신고과정에서 어떠한 경험을 하는지 탐구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 방법 부모의 자녀학대를 발견하고 신고한 경험이 있는 서울시 어린이집 3곳의 원장과 보육교사를 대상으로 개별면담을 수행하였다. 어린이집에서 가정 내 아동학대를 발견하고 신고하기까지 다양한 맥락적 요인들이 인과관계를 함축함에 따라 자료수집과 분석의 순환과정을 통해 발견된 개념적 범주와 특징들 간의 관계를 밝히고 이론적 틀을 구성하고자 Strauss와 Corbin(1998)의 근거이론 절차에 따라 귀납적으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 자료 수집을 위한 심층면담은 2021년 4월부터 5월까지 시행되었고, 면담은 짧게는 30분에서 대게 1~2시간정도 소요되었다. Strauss와 Corbin(1998)이 제안한 자료분석 방법에 따라 첫 과정으로 개방코딩을, 이후 축코딩에서는 패러다임 모형을 제시하였다. 선택코딩에서는 어린이집 보육교직원의 아동학대 신고경험에 대한 핵심범주가 도출되었고, 도출된 핵심범주를 중심으로 아동학대 신고 흐름에 따라 상황 분석을 진행하였다. 결과 보육교직원의 아동학대 신고경험과 과정은 개방코딩을 거쳐 ‘아동학대 신고의 요인, 아동학대 신고를 가중시킨 상황적 맥락, 아동학대 신고의 어려움, 어린이집 보육교직원의 아동학대 신고, 내·외부적 대응전략, 아동학대 신고 이후 결과’라는 6개의 범주로 도출되었고, 축코딩을 통해 범주들 간 관계를 연결하면서 패러다임 모형을 제시하였다. 선택코딩에서는 ‘갈등과 변화’라는 핵심범주를 중심으로 모든 범주를 통합하고 정교화하면서 어린이집 보육교직원의 신고 경험에 대한 흐름을 분석하였고, 상황모형이 도출되었다. 결론 어린이집 보육교직원의 아동학대 신고과정은 ‘충격과 분노-갈등-보람과 상처-신고를 통한 변화’의 단계를 거치며 전개되었으며, 아동학대 예방을 위해 신고에 대한 중요성과 제도적 장치의 필요성을 인식하게 되면서 아동학대 신고의무자에 필요한 효율적인 지원방안이 논의되었다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to investigate the experience of childcare center staff in the process of reporting child abuse after identifying parent-to-child abuse. Methods The directors and staff at three childcare centers in Seoul, South Korea, who had experience discovering and reporting parent-to-child abuse were interviewed individually. The experience and process of child abuse reporting were analyzed inductively according to the steps of the Grounded Theory of Strauss & Corbin (1998). Results The open coding of the childcare center staff experience and process of child abuse reporting resulted in six categories: ‘factors of child abuse reporting’, ‘situational context leading to child abuse reporting’, ‘challenges in child abuse reporting’, ‘reporting of child abuse by childcare center staff', ‘response strategy: internal vs. external’ , ‘result of child abuse reporting’. The axial coding enabled the construction of a paradigm model and a step-by-step reporting process. The selective coding enabled the integration and development of all categories based on the core category of conflict and change. Conclusions The process of reporting child abuse by daycare center employees went through stages of shock, anger, conflict, compensation and regret, and change after reporting. Recognizing the significance of reporting to prevent child abuse and the need for institutional devices, this study discussed efficient support measures for mandatory child abuse reporters in the childcare sector.
