국문 초록

박찬욱 감독의 <헤어질 결심>에서는 기존 음악(pre-existing music)이 중요한 의미로 사용되고 있다. 본 연구는 이 영화에 사용된 말러 <교향곡 5번> 4악장이 어떻게 기존 음악으로 영화에 적용됐는지 살펴보는 연구다. 이를 위해 기존 음악이 영화에 사용됐을 때 어떤 기능적 특징이 있는지 알아보고, 기존음악으로서의 ‘세 가지 코드’의 의미를 설명하며, 이 기존 음악이 세 가지 코드로써 각각 <헤어질 결심>에 어떻게 적용되고 상호작용하는지 알아보았다. 기존 음악의 세 가지 코드 중 ‘문화 음악적 코드’ 는 영화에 종속되지 않고 고유의 독립성과 역사적 배경을 갖고 있어 기존 음악의 역사적 배경을 이해하면 영화의 의미를 파악하고 다양한 각도에서 해석의 깊이를 부여할 수 있다는 연구 결과가 나왔다. 영화 음악을 기획하고 영화 영상에 적용하는 데 있어 작곡과 기존 음악의 ‘문화 음악적 코드’라는 특유의 특성에 대한 고려와 구분이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 영화 음악 분야의 다양한 실험과 발전에서 의미있는 연구가 될 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

In Park Chan-wook's , pre-existing music is used in an important way. This study examines how the 4th movement of Mahler's , used in this film, was applied to the film as pre-existing music. To this end, we will look into what functional characteristics pre-existing music has when used in a movie, explain the meaning of 'three codes' as pre-existing music, and how these three codes are applied to and interact with each other. found out what to do Among the three codes of pre-existing music, the 'cultural musical codes' is not subordinated to films and has its own independence and historical background. Understanding the historical background of pre-existing music will help to understand the meaning of the film and give depth of interpretation from various angles. Research has shown that it can. In planning film music and applying it to film images, it is necessary to consider and distinguish the unique characteristics of 'cultural musical codes' of composition and pre-existing music. Therefore, this study is expected to be a meaningful study in various experiments and developments in the field of film music.
