세르비아의 한류 현상 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 세르비아에서의 한류 현상을 분석하는데 있다. 동유럽 세르비아 한류 팬을 중심으로 세르비아 한류 현상의 유입 배경, 한류의 인기 요인, 세르비아 한류의 영향력 등을 살펴보고, 세르비아 한류의 지속 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 세르비아인 43명을 대상으로 이메일 인터뷰를 진행하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구 결과, 세르비아에서의 한류는 아직 비주류 중심으로 움직이고 있으며, 한류의 확산 시작은 2017년으로 보았다. 세르비아한류 팬들은 소셜 미디어를 통해 한국 문화를 접한 후, 주변 사람들에게 공유를 하면서 전파가 되며, 케이팝뿐만아니라 드라마, 음식, 전통 문화 등 한국의 전반적인 문화에 대한 관심으로 넓어갔다. 하지만 아직은 세르비아인에게 한류는 낮선 현상이다. 세르비아에서 인기 요인으로는 크게 새로움, 완벽함, 소통의 단어로 요약할 수 있었다. 세르비아 한류 팬들은 케이팝에 대해 세르비아 문화와 다른 새로움에 매력을 느끼고, 열심히 하는 ‘하드 워커’ 의 모습을 높게 평가했다. 또한 가수와 팬 사이의 소통, 노랫말에 담긴 메시지에 따뜻함을 느끼면서 케이팝에 매력을 느끼고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 세르비아에 한류의 경제적 효과는 적지만, 한류 문화 교류에 긍정적 영향을 미칠 것으로 본다. 본 연구는 시작 단계에 있는 세르비아 한류 현상에 대해 쓴 최초의 논문이라는 점에서 의의가 있다. 세르비아 한류의 기초 연구 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to investigate the statues of a Korean Wave called ‘Hallyu’ a phenomenon seen in Serbia. The Korean Wave refers to the global popularity of Korean culture including K-pop music, and K-dramas. The Korean Wave in Eastern Europe has boomed in the mid-2000s around Hungary and Rumania, later spreading to Serbia. This study explores the background of the influx and popularity factors that influenced the Korean Wave in Serbia. The study interviewed 43 Serbians and this study shows that people started enjoying Korean culture, especially K-Pop from 2017. After encountering the Korean culture through social media, they spread it by sharing it with people around them such as family and friends. Their interest in K-pop expanded from Korea’s overall culture such as TV drama, movies, food, traditional culture. etc. However, generally the Korean wave is still unfamiliar in Serbia. The popularity factors can be summarized as novelty, perfection, and communication. They highly praised it for its ‘novelty’ as it’s different from Serbian culture. Also, performers work hard to achieve‘perfection’ and they have warm and sincere ‘communication’ with fans. It is expected to have a positive effect on the cultural exchange between the two countries in the future. This study is meaningful in that it is the first paper regarding the Korean Wave in Serbia. It could contribute to understanding and spreading the Korean Wave and it can be used as basic research data on the Korean Wave in Serbia.
