국문 초록

본 연구에서는 지역사회 환경만족도와 중 고등학생의 행복감 간의 연관성을 살펴보며, 이러한 관계에서 청소년이 인식한 여가활동기회와 지역안전이 매개변인으로서의 역할을 하는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 한국청소년정책연구원에서 2019년에 수행한 청소년이 행복한 지역사회 지표조사 및 조성사업 연구VII 자료에서 추출한 중학생 2,656명과 고등학생 3,063명의 자료를 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 지역사회 환경만족도, 여가활동기회, 지역안전은 중 고등학생의 행복감과 정적상관을 보였고, 지역사회 환경만족도는 여가활동기회와 지역안전과 정적상관을 보였다. 둘째, 지역사회 환경만족도와 중 고등학생의 행복감 간의 관계에서 여가활동기회와지역안전은 부분매개변수로서 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 중 고등학생의 행복감을 이해하는데있어서 여가활동기회를 제공하고 지역안전을 확보하는 것이 중요함을 강조하는 한편 이러한 여가활동기회와 여가시간을 고려한 개입 프로그램이 중 고등학생의 행복감을 증진시키는데 유용할 수 있음을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to examine the relationship between satisfaction with community environment and happiness among middle and high school students as well as to investigate the mediating roles of leisure opportunities and perception on community safety. For this purpose, data from a representative sample comprising middle and high school students based on a nationwide study of the Youth Happiness Community’s Index and Community Setting Project VII from the National Youth Policy Institute. The data were analyzed using correlation, regression, and bootstrapping methods. The primary results are as follows: First, satisfaction with community environment, leisure opportunities, perception on community safety were positively correlated with happiness. Satisfaction with community environment was positively correlated with leisure opportunities and community safety. Second, leisure opportunities and perception on community safety played partially mediating roles on the relationship between satisfaction with community environment and happiness. The findings highlight the importance of factors including leisure opportunities and perception on community safety in understanding happiness. The findings suggest the benefits of intervention programs utilizing leisure opportunities and assuring leisure time among middle and high school students.
