‘AMA 앞에 선 인간’의 본질적 윤리성

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 AI 생태계 내에서 ‘인공적 도덕행위자(AMA)’ 등장 앞에 선 인간의 ‘책임감’을 강조하는 것이다. AMA는 인간의 기능을 대신하며 때로는 인간의 지위와 존재의 본질을 위협한다. 논자는 이 현상을 존재론적차원에서 AMA와 인간을 구분하여 접근한다. 이 연구에서 듀이의 도구주의는 AI생태계를 이해하는 틀이다. 이를토대로 인간-AMA의 관계를 정리해보자면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사실적 관점에서 상호작용적 관계 둘째, 존재론적관점에서 주종관계 그리고 셋째, 기능론적 관점에서 인간과 AMA는 각각 관리자, 실무자로서의 역할이다. 여기서가장 핵심은 AI 생태계 내에서 ‘인간’이 책임의 중심이라는 점이다. 구체적으로 이 책임의 실현은 크게 세 방향으로 구상해야 한다. 첫째, 윤리적 차원에서 인간의 실존 자각을 위한 노력 둘째, 과학기술 차원에서 윤리적 정합성을 고려한 책임감 구현시스템 정비 셋째, 윤리적 차원과 과학기술 차원의 협력이다. 이러한 노력을 통해 인간은‘AMA 앞에 선 인간’으로 우뚝 설 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to reveal the “responsibility” of humans in the face of the emergence of “Artificial Moral Agent(AMA)” within the AI ecosystem. The AMA replace human functions and sometimes threaten the status and nature of human existence. The commentator approaches this phenomenon on an ontological level by distinguishing between the AMA and humans. In this study, Dewey’s instrumentalism is a framework for understanding the AI ecosystem. Based on this, the human-AMA relationship is summarized as follows. First, interactive relationships from a factual point of view, second, predominantly species relationships from an ontological point of view, and third, from a functionalist perspective, the humans and AMAs are roles as managers and practitioners, respectively. The key here is that within the AI ecosystem, ‘the human’ is the center of responsibility. Specifically, the realization of this responsibility should be envisioned in three main directions. First, efforts to realize human existence at the ethical level, second, maintenance of the system for the implementation of responsibility that takes into account ethical coherence at the level of science and technology, and third, cooperation at the ethical level and the science and technology level. Through these efforts, we will be able to stand tall as “the human beings in front of the AMA.”
