국문 초록

이 연구는 국내 초중등교육에서 MBL 적용 교육의 효과를 메타 분석 방법에 의해 체계적으로 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해 2020년까지 국내에서 수행된 MBL 적용 교육에 대한 연구 논문 19편을 연구 대상으로 선정하고 메타분석을 실시하였다. 메타분석 방법을 이용하여, MBL 적용 교육의 전체 효과크기, 종속 변인에 따른 효과 크기, 매개 변인에 따른 효과 크기를 산출하였다. 메타 분석의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, MBL 적용 교육의 전체 효과 크기는 0.555로 효과 크기가 중간이라고 해석할 수 있다. 둘째, 다른 학교급보다 고등학교에서 MBL을 적용하였을 때 교육 효과가 높았고, 다른 교과 보다 생물 교과에서 MBL을 적용하였을 때 교육 효과가 높았다. 셋째, 통계적으로 차이는 없었지만, 상대적으로 비정규 교육과정에서, 새로운 기술을 적용하였을 때, 출판된 논문에서 교육 효과가 높게 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과는 MBL 적용 교육을 실시하고자 하는 연구자와 현장 교사에 의미있는 시사점을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 우리나라의 MBL 적용 교육의 경향을 확인하고자 하는 전 세계의 연구자들에게 유용한 정보를 제공할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study systematically analyzed the effects of MBL-applied education in Korean elementary and secondary schools. Author selected 19 research papers on MBL-applied education conducted in Korea before 2020 as the subjects for our meta-analysis. Author calculated the total effect size, the effect size of the dependent variables, and the effect size of the mediating variables. Author determined that the total effect size of MBL-applied education is 0.443, indicating a medium effect. The effect was stronger when MBL was applied in high school than when applied in other levels of education. Additionally, the effect was stronger when MBL was applied in biology than when applied in other subjects. Finally, there were no statistically significant difference when MBL was applied in an atypical curriculum or when applied with new technology. These results present implications for teachers seeking to apply MBL techniques. Additionally, this study provides useful information to researchers outside of Korea attempting to verify the efficacy of MBL-applied education.
