국문 초록

본 연구는 자폐스펙트럼장애 아동ㆍ청소년의 사회성과 우울에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 12주간 16명의 실험집단과 통제집단의 참여자들을 대상으로 연구가 실행되었다. 연구에 참여한 아동ㆍ청소년의 사회성을 측정하기 위해 사회성 기술훈련 척도 (Social Skill for School and Community, SSSC)를 사용하였고, 우울수준을 측정하기 위해 한국형 소아우울척도 (Children’s Depression Inventory, CDI)를 활용하였다. 자료는 사전, 사후, 유지, 세 단계에 걸쳐 수집되었다. 연구 참여자의 수를 고려하여 비모수 통계처리방식인 맨-휘트니 유 검정(Mann-Whitney U Test)으로 사전ㆍ사후 집단 간 동질성을 검증하였고, 프로그램 실시 후 각 집단과 치료단계에 따른 변화를 분석하기 위해 비모수 검정인 윌콕슨 부호-순위검정(Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks Test)을 실시하였다. 연구가 종료될 즈음 실험집단의 아동ㆍ청소년들의 사회성은 향상되고 우울수준은 완화되었으며 유지되었다. 반면에 통제집단의 아동ㆍ청소년의 우울수준은 경미하게 부정적인 양상으로 변했고, 사회성에도 괄목할 만한 변화가 발견되지 않았다. 이 연구는 음악치료가 자폐스펙트럼장애 아동ㆍ청소년들의 사회성 향상과 우울감 해소에 도움이 되는 역할을 할 수 있다는 것을 제안하였다. 연구의 시사점과 제안점이 논의되었다.

영문 초록

The study was aimed to identify how music therapy can help support the level of depression and social skills for childrenㆍadolescent with Autism Spectrum Disorders(ASD). The study was implemented for 12 weeks period with 16 participants in the experimental and control group. To measure the progress of the participants, Children’s Depression Inventory (CDI) and Social Skill for School and Community(SSSC) were utilized. Data was collected three times for pretest, posttest, and maintenance phase. Considering the number of participants, a nonparametric statistical analysis, Mann-Whitney U Test was used to examine the homogeneity between the groups and Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks Test was utilized to analyze the progress between the groups and phases after the music therapy program. Both conditions of social skills and depression of childrenㆍadolescent in the experimental group were improved and maintained after completion of the study. The level of depression of childrenㆍadolescent in the control group gradually changed toward negative trends and their social skills did not show any remarkable changes during the study, but decreased slightly after the study. The study provided information that music therapy can play a helpful role in terms of improving social skills and depression in childrenㆍadolescent with ASD. Implications and suggestions of the study were discussed.
