언어치료 분야의 원격치료 연구 동향 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 2015년부터 2020년 9월까지 국외 원격치료에서 언어치료 분야의 연구동향을 체계적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 연구 동향의 분석을 위해 CINAHL, EBSCOHost, PubMed, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, Web of Science 데이터베이스를 사용하였고, 키워드는 telepractice 또는 telehealth 또는 telemedicine 또는 teleaudiology, 또는 teletherapy, 그리고 speech language pathology(언어치료) 분야가 포함되도록 하였다. 동료의 심사가 없는 논문은 제외하였고, 전문을 분석할 수 있는 논문으로 제한하였다. 선정 기준을 중심으로 총 48개의 논문이 선정되었다. 원격치료 연구는 2015년 이후 꾸준히 발표되었다. 연구 분야로는 실어증으로 25.5%, 언어 22.9%, 청각 18.8%, 음성 14.6%, 조음음운 10.4%, 유창성 4.2%, 삼킴 4.2%였다. 대부분의 연구 목적은 중재(81.3%)였고, 평가가 20.8%이었다. 가장 많은 연구가 발표된 나라는 미국(41.7%)이었고, 다음으로는 호주(22.9%), 대만(8.3%)이었다. 그 외 국가로는 캐나다, 인도, 네덜란드, 영국 등이 있었다. 정보 통신 기술의 발전으로 원격치료를 제공하는 것은 효과적이었다. 원격치료와 대면치료는 비교했을 때 78.6%가 원격치료가 대면치료만큼 효과적이라고 보고했고, 21.4%가 원격치료의 이점이 있지만 논의의 여지가 있다고 보고했다. 그럼에도 연구 설계, 기술 지원, 인식개선은 여전히 극복해야 할 장벽이며, 환자와 임상가 모두 새로운 치료 방식을 적응하고, 적극적으로 활용할 필요가 있어 보인다.

영문 초록

This study attempted to systematically analyze the research trends in the field of speech language pathology in telepractice abroad from 2015 to September 2020. The CINAHL, EBSCOHost, PubMed, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science databases were used for the analysis of the research trends, and the keywords used included telepractice, telehealth, telemedicine, teleaudiology, teletherapy, and speech language pathology. Papers without peer review were excluded. We selected 48 papers based on the inclusion criteria. Telepractice studies have been published steadily since 2015. Research areas were aphasia (25.5%), language (22.9%), hearing (18.8%), voice (14.6%), articulation (10.4%), fluency (4.2%), and swallowing (4.2%). The purpose of most studies was intervention (81.3%), and the evaluation was 20.8%. The country where the most research was published was the United States (41.7%), followed by Australia (22.9%), Taiwan (8.3%). Other countries included Canada, India, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Along with the advances in information and communication technology, telepractice has been reported to be effective. In comparison, 78.6% of the studies reported that telepractice was as effective as face-to-face treatment, and 21.4% reported that telepractice had benefits but with some controversies. The study has some limitations in terms of research design, technical support, and public awareness improvement. It seems that both patients and clinicians need to adapt and actively utilize new treatment methods.
