국문 초록

이 논문은 어머니와 딸이 진행한 구술을 바탕으로 하여 만들어진 김은성의 『내 어머니 이야기』와 김은화의 『나는 엄마가 먹여 살렸는데』를 연구 대상으로 하여 서사화 방식을 고찰하고, 모녀 관계 구술의 특성을 고찰하고 있다. 『내 어머니 이야기』는 일제 강점기에서 한국 전쟁과 이산이라는 역사적 사건을 어머니 ‘이복동녀(놋새)’가 겪은 개인의 경험과 기억을 중심으로 서술하고 있다. 『나는 엄마가 먹여 살렸는데』는 여성 생계 부양자로서 어머니의 노동을 중심으로 구술을 진행하고 있다. 이 두 작품의 서사화 방식은 근현대 한국의 역사와 여성 노동의 역사를 개인적인 경험과 기억으로 서술하면서 공적이고 거대한 담론의 역사쓰기가 아닌 사적이고 미시적인 새로운 역사쓰기를 시도하고 있다. 또한 ‘구술자-어머니’, ‘면담자-딸’이라는 다층적인 역할에서 구술이 진행되기 때문에 공동 기억과 개별 기억을 구술하는 과정에서 과거의 경험과 기억을 현재로 소환되면서 모녀 관계의 구술은 세대와 과거와 현재라는 시대를 연결하는 특성을 나타낸다.

영문 초록

This study examines the characteristics of the mother-daughter relationship based on the oral narrations of mothers and daughters, based on the Kim Eun-sung’s “My Mother’s Story” and Kim Eun-hwa’s “I was fed by my mother.” “My Mother’s Story” describes the historical events of the Korean War and separation during the Japanese colonial period, focusing on the personal experiences and memories of mother’s experiences. “I was fed by my mother” is a woman’s livelihood supporter, focusing on her mother’s labor. The narrative method of these two works describes the history of modern and contemporary Korea and the history of women’s labor through personal experiences and memories, attempting to write a new history that is private and microscopic rather than a history of public and massive discourse. In addition, since dictation proceeds in the multi-layered roles of “narrative-mother” and “interviewer-daughter” in the process of dictating shared and individual memories, the past experiences and memories are summoned to the present. It represents the characteristics that connect the past and the present.
