<사고와 표현> 교육의 흐름과 의사소통교육의 확장적 방향 탐색

국문 초록

대학의 의사소통교육은 대체로 <사고와 표현>이라는 과목 속에서 글쓰기 중심, 특히 학술 글쓰기 중심으로 이루어져 온 감이 있다. 인류가 구축해온 지식을 이해·창출하여 다음 세대로 전수해야 하는 대학의 사명을 고려할 때 학술 글쓰기 교육은 여전히 중요하고 필요하다. 하지만 미래사회를 이끌어갈 구성원을 길러내는 교육이라면 미래사회에 어떤 능력이 필요한지, 학습자의 좋은 삶을 위해 필요한 능력은 무엇인지 등을 고려해야 할 것이다. 이러한 고려를 염두에 두고 <사고와 표현> 교육을 통해 달성할 목표를 설정하고 구체적인 교육과정을 설계해야 할 것이다. 필자는 미래 핵심 역량으로 도출된 인성 역량, 지적 역량, 사회적 역량과 연결하여 성찰적 사고와 표현 교육, 학술적 사고와 표현 교육, 직업적 사고와 표현 교육을 제안하였다. 그리고 이러한 서로 다른 초점을 둔 교육이 단계적이고 유기적으로 구성됨으로써 의사소통능력의 향상이라는 하나의 목표 속에 수렴될 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Communication education in universities has been conducted with a focus on writing, in particular, academic writing, within the subject of “Thought and Expression.” When considering the vocation of universities, which must understand and create knowledge that has been established by humankind and pass it on to future generations, academic writing education is still important and necessary. However, education that fosters members who will lead future societies should consider what competencies are needed in future societies and what abilities are needed for learners to lead good lives. With these considerations in mind, goals must be established through “Thought and Expression” education and detailed curriculums must be designed. This article presents reflective thinking, expressive education, academic apologetic expression education, occupational thinking, and expression education in connection with character competence, intellectual competence, and social competence, which are deduced as key competencies of the future. In addition, as education with such different focuses is organically composed in stages, methods are proposed so that it can be converged within the single goal of communication skill enhancement.
