중도입국 한국어 학습자를 위한 과제 개발 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 중도입국 학습자의 특수성을 고려하여 CEFR을 적용하고자 우선 그 핵심 요인에 해당하는 ‘과제’ 종류를 기준으로 KSL 교재에서의 실현 양상을 분석한 후 개선 방향을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이렇게 초등/중등/고등 1, 2 교재를 대상으로 CEFR 기반의 과제 양상을 실제 분석한 결과 그 주요한 특징은 다음과 같았다. 첫째, ‘과제 유형별 분석 결과 ‘실제 생활과 유사한 과제’나 ‘교육적인 예비 의사소통의 과제’ 등이 고빈도로 나타났다. 그런데 이는 실제 상황, 맥락이 없는 단순한 활동이나 연습 과제 유형 등이 많다는 사실을 시사한다. 둘째, ‘실제성‘이 가장 높은 과제 유형인 ’실제 생활의 실재 과제’가 학교급별 교재 가운데 2단계 보다 1단계에서, 중·고등 교재 보다 초등학생 대상 교재에서 더 많이 나타났다. 이는 학습자들의 언어능력과 ‘형태에서 의미 중심으로’ 구성해야 한다는 과제 제시의 순서 등을 고려하지 않았음을 반증한다. 마지막으로 ‘교재 구성별 특징’으로서 전술된 ‘실제 생활의 실재 과제’가 ‘함께 해봐요’ 나 ‘활동’에서 보다 특히 ‘대화 1, 2나 연습 1, 2’ 등에서만 주로 나타났다. 이는 교재에서의 과제 구성이 실제 상황에서 활발한 상호작용을 유도할 수 있도록 실현되어 있지 않음을 시사한다. 이러한 시사점을 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 과제 구성과 전개 측면에 대한 개선과 함께 ‘과제 은행의 구축’ 등을 제안하면서, 언어 기능 가운데 특히 ‘쓰기’에 중점을 두어 그 과제 개발과 교수-학습 및 수업구성을 위한 발전적인 후속 연구도 제안할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This research has been held with the purpose to find the application of CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) that considers the particular conditions of immigrant adolescent Korean learners. In search for future improvements, it analyzed the current applications in the KSL (Korean as a Second Language) textbooks, basing the analysis on the types of ‘assignments’, which is one of the critical factor in CEFR. The assignments, which followed CEFR and were extracted from the textbooks of elementary/middle/high school level 1, 2, were analyzed, and following results were found. Firstly, the results from the analysis based on the assignment types revealed that the ‘tasks close to real life’, ‘pedagogical pre-communication tasks’, and such appeared very frequently. But this indicated that there were many cases where the assignments lacked coherence in incorporating everyday contexts and applications, and included random practice problems. Secondly, the assignments of ‘authentic tasks of real life’, which is the assignment type with the highest ‘authenticity’, appeared more frequently in the primary stage than the secondary stage for every grade level, and more frequently in the elementary than middle and high school level. This indicated the assignments did not take learner’s language ability into account, and were not composed in a desirable manner of ‘starting with the format, then towards the meaning’. Lastly, the ‘authentic tasks of real life’, which was mentioned as a ‘feature in the assignment composition’, appeared more often especially in the sections of ‘dialogues 1, 2’ or ‘exercise 1, 2’ and etc., than ‘Let’s do it together’ or ‘Activities’ section. This indicated that the assignments within the study materials were not composed in a way that enables them to induce active interaction in an actual situation. Basing on these results, this research was able to propose suggestions on the corrections on the order and the composition of the assignments, the ‘structure of the assignment bank’, and etc.; and at the same time was able to propose a future research-of which focus is on the ‘writing’ ability amongst other language abilities-on the development of the assignments and the composition of teaching-learning and other classes.
