보건의료 종사자와 대학생의 윤리적 가치관, 생명윤리의식과 인공지능인식의 상관관계 연구

국문 초록

보건의료분야는 올바른 윤리적 가치관과 생명윤리의식의 중요성이 강조되고 있으며, 혁신적인 기술과 인공지능기술(Artificial Intelligence)의 적용을 위한 윤리기준 설정까지 고민해야하는 시점이다. 이에 본 연구는 보건의료인과 보건의료계열 대학생의 윤리적 가치관과 생명윤리의식이 향후 인공지능을 인식하는 방향에 어떤 영향을 줄 수 있는지 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 보건의료인과 대학생의 윤리적 가치관을 이상적 기준과 상대적 기준으로 분류하고 생명윤리의식과 인공지능인식을 비교분석하였으며, 전체적으로 윤리적가치관과 생명의료윤리의식, 인공지능기술에 대한 인식의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 보건의료인과 대학생의 이상적 윤리관이 높아질수록 생명윤리의식이 높고, 상대적 윤리관이 높아질수록 생명윤리의식은 낮아지는 상관관계가 나타났으며, 인공지능의 인식에 있어서는 이상적 윤리관이 높아질수록 인공지능의 적용가능성, 인공지능 윤리의 존엄성, 인공지능 윤리의 공평성에 대한 인식이 높고, 상대적 윤리관이 높아지면 인공지능의 부정적 영향에 대한 인식이 낮아지는 관계가 있었다. 이러한 결과를 종합해볼 때, 윤리적 가치관의 측면에서 이상주의와 상대주의 중 어느 것이 옳은 것인가에 대해서는 판단할 수 없지만, 본 연구에서는 보건의료인과 대학생의 이상주의 윤리관이 강할수록 생명윤리의식이 높아지며, 인공지능에 대한 윤리적 기준에 있어서도 환자의 존엄성과 공평성을 중요시하는 방향으로 나타났다. 이에 본 논문에서는 인공지능 기술에 의하여 발생 될 수 있는 윤리적인 갈등에 대응하여 전체 보건의료인들이 올바른 윤리적인 가치 선택을 하기 위해서는 이상적인 윤리적 가치관이 확립되어야 하며, 이를 위한 지속적이고 체계적인 교육이 필요하다고 판단된다.

영문 초록

Given the importance of ethical values and bioethics in the health care field, it is timely for health care workers to consider ethical issues regarding innovative artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This study examined how general ethical values and bioethical values of health care workers and college students can affect future perceptions of artificial intelligence. In particular, the study examined how these ethical values affected ethical judgments regarding the application of artificial intelligence in the medical field. Ethical values of health care workers and college students were classified into ideal and relative standards, then these variables were correlated with perceptions of AI applications in medicine. Our results show that the higher the ideal ethics of health care workers and college students, the higher their awareness of bioethics, and the higher their relative ethics, the lower their awareness of bioethics. With regard to artificial intelligence, higher scores on ideal ethics were positively correlated with an appreciation of the applicability, dignity, and fairness of artificial intelligence. Although it is impossible to judge whether idealism or relativism constitutes the more correct ethical value system, our study found that the stronger the idealism ethics among health care workers and college students, the higher their awareness of bioethical issues. In addition, dignity and impartiality toward patients were identified as important components of ethical standards. The findings suggest that ideal ethical values play an important role in how health care professionals and students make value choices in response to ethical conflicts that may arise from AI technology. The implications of the findings include the desirability of continuous and systematic education on ethical values for groups involved in the application of AI in the health field.
