국문 초록

국정 교과서에서 검정 교과서 체제로 변화된 이후 음악 교과서는 질적으로 많이 개선되었다. 검정 교과서의 가장 큰 장점은 다양성이다. 다양한 음악 교과서에 담긴 악곡들이 음악적, 정서적, 교육적, 사회적으로 중요한 영향을 미치게 되는 점을 고려할 때, 각 교과서에 실린 동요의 분위기와 노랫말의 내용 비교는 의미 있는 연구가 될 것이다. 본 연구의 목적은 3~6학년 음악 교과서에 수록된 동요의 분위기 및 노랫말의 내용을 분석하여, 연구 결과를 학년별 및 교과서별로 비교 제시하는 데 있다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가창곡(동요) 수는 3~5학년에서 교과서별로 크게는 약 2배의 차이가 있는 것으로 조사되었는데 6학년은 비교적 큰 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 동요의 분위기는 한 두 교과서를 제외하고 대체로 모든 학년의 교과서에서 서정적 분위기보다는 경쾌한 분위기의 악곡이 많은 것으로 분석되었다. 셋째, 노랫말의 내용은 3학년 모든 교과서에서, 4~6학년은 한 두 교과서를 제외하고는 대체로 ‘자연물’ 내용이 가장 많았으며 다음으로 ‘우리’ 관련 내용이 많았다. 넷째, 두 학년씩 방사형 그래프 형태를 합쳐서 비교한 결과, 음악 교과서마다 차이가 있는 동요의 분위기와 노랫말의 내용은 장기간의 음악 경험에 의미 있는 차이를 줄 수 있다는 시사점을 발견하였다. 노래 수업의 핵심인 ‘동요’를 동요의 분위기와 노랫말의 내용이라는 측면에서 분석한 본 연구의 결과가 향후 음악 교과서 집필 시 동요의 선정 및 구성을 위한 기초 자료로 유용하게 활용되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The quality of music textbooks has greatly improved after the national textbook system was replaced with textbooks going through screening. The biggest advantage of textbooks that have went through screening is variety, but considering the great impact music pieces within textbooks have on elementary students musically, emotionally, educationally and socially, comparing the content of lyrics and mood of children’s songs in each type of textbook is a meaningful analysis at this point. The purpose of this study is to analyze the content of lyrics and mood of music textbooks throughout the grades of 3~6 and to compare and present the results according to each grade and publisher. For this, the educational meaning of elementary school music textbooks and children’s songs were reviewed beforehand. The results of this study are as followed. First, throughout grades 3~5, some textbooks had twice as much the number of included songs while textbooks for 6th graders showed less of a difference. Second, apart from a couple of textbooks, it was analyzed that there were more cheerful than lyrical songs throughout all grades. Third, it was found that regarding the content of lyrics, all 3rd grade textbooks and the majority of 4th~6th grade textbooks dealt with nature the most, followed by the concept ‘us’. Fourth, comparing the polygon-circle graph of two grades, it was noticed that the different content of lyrics and mood of children’s songs depending on each type of music textbook could give a significant difference in long-term music experience. Hopefully, the results of analyzing the content of lyrics and mood of ‘children’s songs’, the core of singing class, will be practically used as preliminary data for children’s song choice and construction when developing future music textbooks.
