초등학생 분수감각 검사 도구 개발 및 유용성 검증

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 분수감각을 측정하는 도구를 개발하고 이를 활용하여 학생들의 분수감각 수준을 살펴보는 것이다. 먼저 관련 문헌을 고찰하여 분수감각의 정의와 구성요소를 추출한 후 전문가검토를 거쳐 예비문항을 개발하였다. 초등학교 4~6학년 28명을 대상으로 예비검사를 실시한 결과를 바탕으로 전문가검토를 거쳐 수정 보완한 분수감각 검사는 5개 영역(분수의 의미, 분수의 크기 비교, 동치관계 이해, 분수연산의 이해, 기준척도 활용), 67문항으로 구성하였다. 이를 활용하여 초등학교 4~6학년 158명에게 본검사를 실시한 결과 문항양호도와 검사양호도는 신뢰할 만한 수준으로 나타났다. 분수감각 수준을 살펴보면, 학생들은 분수의 가장 기본인 등분할 영역에서 모두 높은 성취를 보였으나, 다른 영역에서는 하위집단과 상위집단 간의 차이가 크게 나타났다. 분수감각 수준이 높은 상위집단은 일련의 순서대로 분수를 정렬하는 지식을 바탕으로 분수의 크기 비교를 능숙하게 할 수 있고, 알지 못하는 수의 값을 찾고자 할 때 기준척도를 효율적으로 활용하여 분수 연산 문제를 해결하였다. 대조적으로 하위집단은 분수 크기를 인식하지 못해 동치관계 이해, 분수연산의 이해, 기준척도의 활용 영역에서 평균 1점을 넘지 못했다. 본 연구에서 개발된 분수감각 검사는 학생들의 분수감각 수준 측정 외에도 분수학습 내용 및 문제해결 전략으로도 활용할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to develop of fraction sense test for elementary children and to investigate the level of fraction sense of students using it. By reviewing literature researches, we set up the definition of fraction sense and extracted components of fraction sense. Then content validity verification was performed by experts to verify the derived preparatory questions. The developed fraction sense test consists of 5 sub-tests with 67 items, involving meaning of fractions, comparing fractions, fraction equivalence, computation of fraction and using fractions benchmarks. The participants in the verification process were with 158 students who were selected from grades 4 through 6 in elementary school located in B City. The results from this study are as following: First, the measurement tool for elementary children’s fraction sense developed in this study was verified as a reliable and valid tool in terms of both adequacy of the items (passing rate, item-discrimination, and item total correlation) and adequacy of the measurement tool (reliability and validity). Second, there were a significant difference between high achieve group and low achieve group of fraction sense. The fraction sense test developed in this study could be measure the level of fraction sense of students and used for learning fraction contents and problem solving strategy.
