취업 사교육 참여가 대학생의 구직효능감과 구직 소요기간에 미치는 영향 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 사회학습이론과 인적자본이론에 근거해 취업 사교육 프로그램 참여가 대학생들의 구직효능감의 향상과 구직 소요기간의 단축을 가져오는지 검증하였다. 방법 총 459명의 국내 한 4년제 대학 졸업생 및 졸업예정자가 온라인 설문에 참여하였다. 종속변수로 구직효능감과 구직 소요기간이, 독립변수로는 현직자 멘토링, 공인 어학시험 대비 수강, 자소서/이력서 코칭, 면접 스킬 코칭, 채용 박람회/워크숍 참여의 5가지취업 사교육 프로그램을 측정하였다. 가설 검증을 위해 회귀분석과 relative weight 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 미취업 대학생들의 구직효능감은 현직자 멘토링과 자소서/이력서 코칭 프로그램 참여에 의해 유의하게 증가하였다. Relative weight 분석 결과, 이 두 요인이 전체 효능감 증분의 약 60%를 차지했다. 다른 요인들은 구직효능감 증가에 유의미한 효과를 보이지 않았다. 특히 공인 어학시험 수강은 구직효능감 증분이 채 7%에도 미치지 못했다. 기취업 대학생들의 구직 소요기간은 취업 사교육 프로그램 여부에 의해 유의하게 영향 받지 않는 것으로 드러났다. 결론 본 연구는 취업 사교육의 효과가 대학생들의 구직효능감 향상과 구직 소요기간 단축에 있어 제한적임을 실증적으로 제시하였다. 이에 경제적 부담을 고려할 때 취업 사교육 프로그램의 수강과 추천에 보다 신중한 접근이 요구되며, 관련 논의와 교육적 시사를다루었다.

영문 초록

Objectives Drawing upon social learning theory and human capital theory, this study explored the impact of private career institutions' services on job search self-efficacy and job search duration among college students. Methods A total of 459 graduates and graduating seniors from a Korean university participated in an online survey. Job search self-efficacy and job search duration were measured as dependent variables, and participation in five career training programs such as job incumbent mentoring, language proficiency test preparation, resume/cover letter coaching, interview skill coaching, and participation in job fairs/workshops were measured as independent variables. Regression analysis and relative weight analysis were conducted. Results Participation in job incumbent mentoring and resume/cover letter coaching significantly increased job search self-efficacy. Relative weight analysis further revealed that these two factors accounted for approximately 60% of the overall increase in efficacy. Other factors did not significantly affect job search self-efficacy including language proficiency test preparation that contributed to a mere 7% increase. The job search duration of newly employed college job seekers was not significantly influenced by participation in any private career services. Conclusions This study empirically demonstrates the limited effectiveness of private career institutions' services in enhancing job search self-efficacy and reducing job search duration among college job seekers. Given the economic burden of such services, a more cautious approach is necessary when recommending and attending those programs. Discussions and educational implications were provided.
