언어장애 아동의 인지양식 관련 연구의 동향 및 과제

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 인지양식을 다룬 아동 언어장애 관련 문헌 연구를 진행함으로써, 인지양식이 이들의 언어 결함을 설명하는 데중요한 영향을 미치는지와 관련된 최근 연구 동향과 과제를 확인해 보고자 하였다. 방법 2000년 이후 언어장애 아동을 대상으로 이뤄진 인지양식 연구에 대해 구조화된 절차를 거쳐 총 21편을 선정하였다. 내용분석을 위해 5개 유형으로 인지양식 연구 특성을 분류하였고, 대상과 관련 요인 등을 분석하였다. 결과 첫째, 언어장애아동의 인지양식에 따른 작업기억 특성을 살펴본 연구들이 국내에서는 매우 제한적으로 이뤄지고 있었음에도, 자폐범주성장애 아동의 국소처리와 약한 중앙응집성에 관한 연구들과 더불어 학령기 아동의 학업 성취와 관련된 연구들이 비교적활발하게 진행되고 있음을 확인하였다. 둘째, 언어장애 별로 인지양식 유형과 연구접근에 상이함이 있었지만 언어와 시공간 작업기억을 비롯해 인지양식으로 인지과정을 분석하려는 다양한 연구 시도를 확인하였다. 특히 언어장애 아동 인지양식 유형을 장의존적/ 장독립적, 국소적 처리/전체적 처리, 국소적 처리와 중앙응집성, 언어와 시공간 작업기억, 순차처리/동시처리의 다섯 가지로 분류하여 장애 유형과 세부 분석 특징을 살펴 볼 수 있었다. 마지막으로, 단순언어장애 아동을 포함해 학습부진이나 읽기장애 아동 역시특정 인지양식에서의 강점을 파악하는 것이 언어 중재와 교육을 위한 무엇보다 필요한 과제임을 논의하였다. 결론 기존 인지양식 연구 분야의 축적된 연구 결과들을 바탕으로 언어장애 아동의 작업기억 특성과 인지양식을 분류하여 유용한자극 입력 조건을 밝히는 것은 임상적으로 매우 의미 있는 연구가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives We conducted a literature study on the research trends of cognitive styles of children with language disorders and we tried to investigate the effects of cognitive styles on their language defects. Methods A total of 21 cognitive style studies conducted on children with language disorders since 2000 have analyzed the characteristics and subjects of research, cognitive style types, and related factors. Results First, studies examining the characteristics of working memory according to the cognitive style of children with language disorders were very limited in Korea. Studies related to academic achievement of school-age children were relatively active, along with studies on local treatment and weak central cohesion of children with autism categories. Various research attempts were confirmed to analyze the cognitive process of children with language disorders through cognitive styles, including language/visuospatial working memory. Second, the cognitive style types of children with language disorders could be classified into five categories: field dependent/independent, local/global processing, local processing and central cohesion, language and visuospatial working memory, and sequential/simultaneous processing. Conclusions We discussed that understanding the cognitive strengths of children with poor learning or reading disabilities including SLI and language disorders is the most necessary task for language intervention and education.
