국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 대학생 집단을 대상으로 사회적 상호작용 불안과 우울의 시간적 선행관계를 검토하고, 두 변인의 관계를 회피행동과 긍정정서가 종단적으로 매개하는지 검증하고자 하였다. 방법 본 연구의 종단적 설계를 고려하여, 사회적 상호작용 불안, 회피행동, 긍정 정서, 우울에 대한 자기보고식 설문을 3주 간격으로 총 4회 측정하였고, 모든 측정 시기에 참여한 대학생 201명(남자 52명, 여자 149명)을 대상으로 자기회귀 교차지연 모형 분석을 통해 순차적 매개효과를 검증하였다. 결과 첫째, 사회불안, 회피행동, 긍정정서, 우울은 시간에 따른 안정성을 나타냈다. 둘째, 회피행동이 긍정 정서에 미치는 영향을 제외한 모든 변인 간의 종단적 영향이 통계적으로 유의하였다. 셋째, 회피행동과 긍정 정서는 사회불안과 우울의 관계에서 각각 종단적으로 부분 매개효과를 나타낸 반면, 회피행동과 긍정 정서의 순차적 매개효과는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 결론 본 연구의 결과는 단기 종단적 설계를 통해 사회적 상호작용 불안과 우울의 관계에서 회피행동과 긍정 정서의 매개효과를 검증하였다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 사회불안장애를 겪고 있는 사람들에게 회피행동을 감소시키거나, 긍정 정서 경험을 증가시키는 것을 표적으로 한 치료적 개입이 추후 우울로의 발병을 예방하기 위해 고려되어야 할 중요한 요소임을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purposes of current study was to examine the longitudinal mediation effects of avoidance behaviour and positive affect in the relationship between social interaction anxiety and depression. Methods Considering the longitudinal design of this study, an online survey was presented four times in three weeks. And Social Interaction Anxeity Scale(SIAS), Liebowitx Social Anxiety Scale(LSAS), Positive Affect and Negative Affect Scale(PANAS), The Center for Epidemiologiacl Studies Depression Scale(CES-D) are used for measurement. Also, The mediating effect was examined through Autoregressive Cross-Lagged Modeling Analysis for 201 college students(male 52 and female 149) who participated in all measurement periods. Results First, social anxiety, avoidance behaviour, positive affect and depression was stable over time. Second, the longitudinal effects among all the variables were statistically significant, except for the effect of the avoidance behaviour on positive affect. Third, while the avoidance behaviour and positive affect displayed partial mediation effects in the relationship between social anxiety and depression, the sequential mediation effects of avoidance behaviour and positive affect were not statistically significant. Conclusions The results of this study are significant in that verified the mediation effects of avoidance behaviour and positive emotions in the relationship between social interaction anxiety and depression through short-term longitudinal design. Also, this study suggests that therapeutic intervention aimed at reducing avoidance behavior or increasing positive emotional experience in people suffering from social anxiety disorders is an important factor to be considered to prevent the onset of depression in the future.
