국문 초록

목적 이전의 연구에서는 아동의 협력적인 태도와 행복이 서로 영향을 미친다고 가정해왔으나, 경험적 근거가 불일치하여 협동심이 행복에 영향을 미치는지 혹은 그 반대인지에 대해서는 불분명하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초등학교 고학년 아동이 지각하는 행복과 협동심의 상호관계와 그 방향성을 살펴보고, 성별과 연령에 따라 행복과 협동심의 관계에 차이를 보이는지 조사하였다. 방법 한국청소년정책연구원에서 수행한 아동⋅청소년 패널조사 2018자료를 활용하였으며, 연구의 대상은 남아 1169명과 여아 1159명이다. 본 연구에서는 조사 참여자가 4학년인 2018년부터 6학년이 된 2020년까지 3년간 추적하여 수집된 종단 자료를 활용하였으며, SPSS와 Amos 프로그램을 사용하여 자기회귀 교차지연 모형에 대한 다집단 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 행복이 협동심에 영향을 미치는 교차지연 효과는 유의한 것으로 나타났으나, 반대로 협동심이 행복에 영향을 미치는 교차지연 효과는 유의하지 않았다. 이는 행복이 협동심의 선행 요인이 되지만 그 반대는 성립하지 않는다는 것을 나타낸다. 그리고 측정 시점과 남녀 집단별로 측정 동일성과 경로 동일성을 검증한 결과, 경로계수의 차이가 유의하지 않아 행복과 협동심의 관계가 연령과 성별에 따라 유의하게 달라지지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 행복과 협동심의 자기회귀 효과가 유의하여 이들이 안정적인 특징을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구의 결과는 행복한 아이들이 또래와의 집단 활동 과정에 협력적으로 참여하려는 경향이 있음을 보여준다. 따라서 학습자들이 행복하다고 느낄 수 있게 하는 긍정적인 학습 분위기를 형성하는 것이 협동 학습을 촉진할 수 있으며, 협동심을 높이기 위한 중재에 앞서 이들의 행복감을 유도하는 것이 중요하다고 제안한다.

영문 초록

Objectives Previous studies have assumed that children's cooperative behavior and happiness affect each other. However, it is unclear whether cooperativeness affects happiness or vice versa because the empirical grounds are inconsistent. Accordingly, this study investigated the causal relationship between happiness and cooperativeness perceived by fourth- to sixth-graders in elementary schools and whether there is a difference in the longitudinal relationship between happiness and cooperativeness according to gender and age. Methods Data from a panel survey conducted by the Korea National Youth Policy Institute was used. The participants comprised 1,169 boys and 1,159 girls. The data used was collected by tracking participants for three years from 2018, when they were in the fourth grade, to 2020, when they were in the sixth grade. A multigroup analysis of the autoregression cross-legged modeling was conducted using SPSS and AMOS program. Results The cross-legged effect of happiness on cooperativeness was significant; however, the cross-legged effect of cooperativeness on happiness was insignificant. It indicated that happiness is a preceding factor for cooperativeness, however, not vice versa. Verification of the measurement and path invariances by the time of data collection and gender yielded an insignificant difference in path coefficients, suggesting that the relationship between happiness and cooperativeness does not vary significantly according to age and gender. In addition, the autoregression effects of happiness and cooperativeness were significant and indicated stable characteristics. Conclusions The findings reveal that happy children tend to cooperate in group activities with their peers. Therefore, this study suggests that creating a positive learning atmosphere that enables learners to feel happy will promote collaborative learning, and that the focus should be on encouraging their sense of happiness rather than cooperativeness in the clinical field.
