국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 중학생의 학업열의와 학업무기력에 대해 학년 진급에 따른 변화를 확인하고, 부모양육태도, 교사애착, 학업열의 및 학업무기력의 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 한국아동⋅청소년패널 조사 중1 패널의 중학교 1학년(1차년도, 2018), 2학년(2차년도, 2019) 종단자료를 활용하였으며, 중학생 2,438명을 대상으로 하였다. t-검정을 통해 학년 및 성별에 따른 차이를 확인하였고 구조방정식 모형 분석을 통해 변인들 간의 구조적 관계 및 매개효과를 검정하였다. 결과 첫째, 학업열의는 1차년도와 2차년도에 유의한 차이가 없었으나, 하위요인 중 헌신과 효능감이 1차년도에 비해 2차년도에 낮았고, 활기와 학업무기력은 1차년도에 비해 2차년도에 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 남학생의 경우 학업열의가 1차년도에 비해 2차년도에 유의하게 낮게 나타난 반면, 여학생은 1차년도에 비해 2차년도에 학업열의가 높게 나타났다. 한편, 학업무기력은 남⋅여 학생 모두 1차년도에 비해 2차년도에 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 1차년도에 남학생이 여학생에 비해 학업열의가 높았으며, 학업무기력에서는 성별에 따른 유의한 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 부모양육태도는 자아존중감을 완전매개하여 학업열의에 영향을 미쳤으며, 자아존중감을 부분매개하여 학업무기력에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 교사애착은 자아존중감을 부분매개하여 학업열의 및 학업무기력에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 이러한 연구결과는 중학교 1학년에서 2학년으로 성장하는 시기에 학업무기력이 높아지는 문제에 대한 사회적 관심과 적절한 개입의 필요성을 시사하며, 학업열의를 높이고 학업무기력을 낮추기 위해 부모의 긍정적 양육태도 및 교사와의 애착, 건강한 자아존중감의 중요성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the academic engagement and academic helplessness of middle school students, and to verify the structural relationship among parenting attitude, self-esteem, teacher attachment, academic engagement and academic helplessness. Methods For this purpose, the longitudinal data of the 1st year of middle school(1st year, 2018) and 2nd year(2nd year, 2019) of the 1st panel of the Korean Children s and Youth Panel survey were used. The t-test and structural equation analysis were performed on 2,438 middle school students. Results There was no significant difference in the academic engagement of middle school students between the 1st and 2nd years. However, the academic helplessness increased in the second year. Second, male students had higher academic engagement than female students, and there was no significant difference in academic helplessness. Third, it was found that parenting attitude completely mediated self-esteem and influenced academic engagement, and it was found that it affected academic helplessness by partially mediating self-esteem. Also, teacher attachment was found to have an effect on academic engagement and academic helplessness by partially mediating self-esteem. Conclusions Based on this result, implications of this study and suggestions were disscussed.
