초중고 학생들의 천문야외활동에 미치는 영향 요인분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 천문학 분야에서 이루어지는 학교 밖 교육, 즉 천문야외활동을 경험하도록 이끄는 요소를 찾아보았다. 방법 이를 위하여 2018년 한국청소년정책연구원에서 약 9천여 명의 초중고 학생들을 대상으로 수행한 청소년활동 참여 실태조사 결과를 이용하여 다중회귀분석 및 위계적회귀분석 방법을 적용하였다. 결과 분석 결과 학생의 학업 성적이 높을수록 또는 부모의 지원이 많을수록 천문야외활동의 참여율이 높아짐이 통계적으로 나타났다. 한편, 부모의 권유를 통하기보다는 다른 경로를 통해 참여하는 경향이 높았다. 학교급간의 비교에서는 초등학생의 쳔문야외활동 참여 경향이 높게 나타났다. 결론 본 연구결과는 학생이 처한 환경, 즉 사회경제적 특성 및 부모의 지원이 학생의 천문야외활동 참여에 영향을 준다는 것을 보여준다. 따라서 청소년들이 처한 환경에 따른 불균형 해소를 위해 다양한 방면으로 천문야외활동 체험 기회를 제공하는 것이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study was conducted to examine the factors that lead students to experience astronomical outdoor activities. Methods We utilized multiple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis using the survey data on youth activity participation conducted by about 9,000 elementary, middle and high school students by the National Youth Policy Institute in 2018. Results As a result, the higher the student’s academic performance, the higher the participation rate of astronomical outdoor activities was statistically significant. In addition, the higher the support from parents, the higher the participation rate in outdoor astronomical activities. On the other hand, there was a higher tendency to participate in through other channels rather than through parents recommendation. Among different levels of schools, elementary school students tend to attend the outdoor astronomical activities. Conclusions The results of this study show that the student s environment, that is, their socio-economic status and the support of parents, influence the student s participation in outdoor astronomical activities. Therefore, it would be necessary to provide opportunities to experience astronomical outdoor activities in various fields in order to resolve the imbalance caused by the environment in which adolescents are faced.
