유아와 관련된 스마트폰 국내 연구 동향 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 유아와 관련된 스마트폰의 국내연구 동향을 분석하여 이에 대한 기초자료를 제공하기 위함이다. 방법 2011년 1월부터 2020년 12월까지 국내 등재학술지에 게재된 82편의 논문을 대상으로 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였다. 결과 첫째, 연구시기별로 살펴보면 2011년부터 2020년까지 유아와 관련된 스마트폰 연구의 수는 점점 증가하는 추세이며, 학술지 유형별로 보면 유아교육⋅보육 분야 외에도 교육, 치료, 디지털⋅미디어 등 다양한 분야의 학술지에서 유아 스마트폰 관련 연구가 게재되고 있다. 둘째, 연구대상에서는 물적 대상, 실천 대상 연구보다 인적대상 연구가 월등히 많이 수행되었다. 인적대상에서도 유아와 부모를 함께 대상으로 한 연구가 유아만을 대상으로 한 연구보다 높은 비중을 차지하였고, 단일연령 유아에 비해 혼합연령 유아를 대상으로 한 연구가 월등히 높은 비중을 차지하였다. 셋째, 연구목적에서는 부모변인의 영향력 검증을 목적으로 한 연구가 가장 높은 비중을 차지하였고, 스마트폰활용 환경(교육)의 영향력 검증을 목적으로 한 연구가 가장 낮은 비중을 차지하였다. 넷째, 연구내용에서는 인적/물적 환경을 내용으로 한 연구가 가장 높은 비중을 차지하였고, 교육프로그램 개발 또는 효과검증을 내용으로 한 연구가 가장 낮은 비중을 차지하였다. 다섯째, 연구유형에 있어서는 양적연구 유형이 가장 많았으며, 질적 연구는 단 한편도 수행되지 않았다. 또한 횡단연구가 주를 이루었으며 종단연구의 수행은 단 1편에 그쳤다. 결론 본 연구는 유아와 관련된 스마트폰 연구의 동향을 분석하여 연구 대상 및 목적, 연구 내용 및 유형에서의 편중성을 밝힘으로써 추후 연구에서의 균형성을 도모하고, 발전적 방향성을 제시하였다는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study is to analyze the trends of smartphone research in Korea related to young children and to provide basic data for them. Methods The frequency and percentage were calculated from 82 studies published in the journals in Korea from January 2011 to December 2020. Results First, according to the period of study, the number of smartphone studies related to young children tends to increase from 2011 to 2020, and according to the type of journal, in addition to early childhood education and child care, studies on children s smartphones are being published in various fields of journals such as education, treatment, digital and media. Second, in the subjects of study, studies on human subjects were far more performed than studies on physical objects and practice objects. Also, in the human subject, the studies of children and parents together accounted for a higher proportion than the studies of children only, and the studies of mixed-age children had much higher proportion than those of single-age children. Third, in the purpose of study, studies aimed at verifying the influence of parent-variables took the highest proportion, and studies aimed at verifying the influence of smartphone-using environment (education) took the lowest proportion. Fourth, in the contents of study, studies with the contents of human/material environment took the highest proportion, and studies with the contents of education program development or effect verification took the lowest proportion. Fifth, in the study type, quantitative study type was the most, and qualitative study was not performed even once, on the other hand, the cross-sectional studies were the main part, and the performance of longitudinal studies was only one research paper. Conclusions This study is meaningful in that it aims to promote balance in future studies and to suggest developmental direction by analyzing trends of smartphone research related to young children and clarifying the inequality in subjects, purposes, contents and types of study.
