국어교사의 음성 장애 지수 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 국어교사의 음성 장애 지수(VHI, vocal handicap index)를 조사하고, 국어교사의 개인적⋅직업적 특성에 따른 음성 장애 지수의 차이를 분석하고자 한다. 방법 이를 위해 전국의 국어교사 113명을 편의 표집한 후, 음성 관련 문제를 조사하는 데 널리 쓰이는 음성 장애 지수 측정 설문지, 개인적⋅직업적 특성과 관련된 인적 사항 기록지를 제시해 국어교사의 반응을 수집하였다. 응답 결과는 Python ver. 3.8.5.를 활용하여 통계 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 음성 장애 지수의 문항 당 평균은 매우 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 영역별 음성 장애 지수를 살펴본 결과, ‘신체적>기능적>정서적’ 영역의 순으로 점수가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 국어교사 1인 당 음성 장애 지수의 평균은 매우 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 국어교사의 ‘경력, 마이크 사용 여부, 일 평균 수업 시간, 학급당 학생 수’와 음성 장애 지수 간에 주목할 만한 결과가 나타났다. 결론 국어교사들의 음성 교육 및 음성 관리 방안에 대해 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국어교사들이 주기적인 음성 관리 및 교육을 받도록 안내할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 예비교사, 저경력 교사와 고경력 교사를 대상으로 한 음성 관리 프로그램을 구성할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 국어교사들의 효과적인 음성 관리 위해서는 일 평균 수업 시간과 학급당 평균 학생 수를 고려할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the Voice Handicap Index(VHI) of Korean language teachers and to analyze the differences in the VHI according to the personal and occupational characteristics of Korean language teachers. Methods To this end, 113 Korean language teachers from all over the country were selected, and a questionnaire was presented to measure the VHI, which is widely used to investigate voice-related problems, and the responses of Korean language teachers were collected. Results First, the average score per item on the VHI is shown to be very low. Second, looking at the VHI according to area, it was found that the scores were high in the order of the ‘physical>functional>emotional’ areas. Third, the average score of the VHI per Korean language teacher was found to be very low. Fourth, there was a remarkable trend between the Korean language teacher s ‘career, use of microphone, average time of lecture per a day, average number of students per a class” and the VHI. Conclusions Suggestions for voice education and voice management of Korean language teachers are as follows. First, it is necessary to guide Korean language teachers to receive regular voice management and education. Secondly, it is necessary to organize voice management programs for pre-service teachers, low- and high-career teachers. Third, in order to effectively manage the voice of Korean language teachers, it is necessary to consider average time of lecture per a day, average number of students per a class.
