국문 초록

이 연구는 인과관계 접속부사인 {그래서/ 따라서}를 중심으로 접속 구문의 의미 관계를 밝히고 문장에 나타난 구문 형식을 비교·분석하여, 한국어 학습자를 위한 교육 방안을 제안하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 {그래서/ 따라서}의 사전 정의를 검토하고 한국어능력시험의 읽기 지문을 분석하였다. {그래서}와 {따라서}는 인과관계 접속부사로 분류되지만, {그래서}는 구어체와 문어체에 모두 쓰이는 반면 {따라서}는 주로 문어체에서 사용된다. 또한 문맥에 따라 의미에 차이도 있다. 읽기 지문을 분석한 결과, {그래서}는 [원인]과 [결과]의 접속에서 주로 사용되고 {따라서}는 [이유]와 [결론]의 접속에서 주로 사용되는 것으로 나타났다. 이처럼 {따라서}는 논의를 거쳐 결론을 낼 때 사용되기 때문에 객관적이고 논리적인 글에서 주로 사용되는 것으로 나타났다. 의미 관계의 차이는 {그래서/ 따라서}의 구문 형식의 차이로도 나타나는데, 이러한 구문 형식의 차이는 한국어 학습자가 글쓰기에서 {그래서/ 따라서}를 구별하여 사용하는 데에 유용하게 활용할 수 있다. {그래서/ 따라서}는 사용 빈도가 높은 접속부사이지만, 한국어 학습자를 위한 비교 연구와 교육 방안 연구는 부족하다. 이 연구는 {그래서/ 따라서}의 의미와 구문을 비교하여 한국어 학습자에게 필요한 학습 내용을 명시적으로 제공하고, 한국어 학습자가 글쓰기에 쉽게 활용할 수 있는 구문 형식을 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to reveal the semantic relations of the conjoined sentence around the causal conjunctive adverbs {geulaeseo/ ttalaseo}, and propose a teaching method for Korean learners by comparing and analyzing the syntactic forms shown in the sentences. For this purpose, the dictionary definition of {geulaeseo/ ttalaseo} was reviewed and the reading texts of the ‘Test of Proficiency in Korean’ was analyzed. While {geulaeseo} and {ttalaseo} are classified as causal conjunctive adverbs, {geulaeseo} is used in both spoken and written texts, while {ttalaseo} is mainly used in written texts. There is also a difference in meaning depending on the context. An Analysis of the reading text shows that {geulaeseo} is primarily used in connections between [CAUSE] and [RESULT] and {ttalaseo} is primarily used in connections between [REASON] and [CONCLUSION]. As such, it has been found that {ttalaseo} is mainly used in objective and logical writing because it is used to draw conclusions after discussion. Differences in semantic relations also appear as differences in the syntactic forms of {geulaeseo/ ttalaseo}, which can be useful for Korean learners to distinguish and use {geulaeseo/ ttalaseo} in their writing. {geulaeseo/ ttalaseo} is a frequently used conjunctive adverbs, but there is a lack of comparative studies and teaching methods for Korean learners. This study is meaningful in that it provides explicit contents of learning to Korean learners by comparing the meaning and syntactic forms of {geulaeseo/ ttalaseo}.
