초등 사회교과서 근현대사 시각자료의 기능 변화 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 1차 교육과정부터 2015 개정교육과정까지 초등 사회교과서 근현대사영역에 수록된 시각자료들의 기능을 분석하여 그 특징과 변화의 맥락을 이해하는 것이다. 이를 위해 시각자료의 기능을 장식, 주의, 예시·표현, 설명, 조직, 보충, 탐구로 범주화하는 분석기준을 설정하였다. 이후 설정된 분석기준으로 각 교육과정 시기별 시각자료의 기능과 유형 그리고 배치형태를 종합적으로 분석한 뒤 시간의 흐름에 따른 시각자료기능의 종단적 변화과정을 파악하였다. 연구결과 가장 많이 활용된 시각자료의 기능은 본문의 학습내용을 시각자료로 반복하는 예시·표현기능이었으며 최근 교육과정으로 올수록 조직, 보충, 탐구와 같이 학습자의 사고를 촉진할 수 있는 시각자료기능의 활용이 증가하고 있었다. 또한 가장 많이 사용된 시각자료의 유형은 사진이며 시각자료의 배치유형이 점점 다양해지고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 끝으로 시각자료간의 관계를 활용한 다중배치로 학습에서 시각자료의 기능을 극대화하는 모습이 늘어났다. 이러한 분석결과는 초등 사회교과서 근현대사영역에 활용된 시각자료기능이 질과 양에서 점진적으로 성장하고 있음을 의미한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to Analysis of changes in the Functions of Visual Materials in Modern and Contemporary History Section of elementary Social Studies Textbook from the 1st curriculum to the 2015 revised curriculum. For this, Develop and analyze visual Materials function analysis tool The results were as follows. First, the most used function of visual material was an example and expression function of repeating the learning contents of the text with visual material. Second, the most used type of visual material is photography, and the form of multi-placed is increasing. In particular, the multi-placement utilizing the relationship between visual materials has increased the appearance of maximizing the function of visual materials in learning. The results of this analysis indicate that the visual data function used in the field of modern and contemporary history in elementary social textbooks is gradually growing in quality and quantity.
