국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 예비 교사의 현대 대수 학습 동기 강화에 도움을 주는 방정식 풀이 관련 교육 모듈을 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다. 방법 디자인 연구 방법론을 적용하여 예비 교사의 방정식 수업 실습 기회를 포함하도록 교육 모듈을 1차 개발한 후, 예비 교사 2명을 대상으로 실험을 실행하였고, 추가로 현직 교사 2명과 예비 교사 대상 대수 교육 전문가 2명에게 모듈의 개선점에 관한 의견을 수집하여 최종 모듈을 도출하였다. 결과 실험 결과, 예비 교사 2명 모두 모듈 체험을 통하여 현대 대수 학습 의욕이 높아진 것으로 나타났다. 현직 교사 2명과 대수 교육 전문가 2명은 모듈의 개선점에 관하여 다양한 의견을 주었으며 본 연구와 같은 예비 교사를 위한 교육 모듈 개발 연구의 필요성에 공감하였다. 결론 예비 교사 대상 실험 결과, 수학 교육적 실습 기회를 포함한 대수 교육 모듈이 예비 교사의 현대 대수 학습 동기 강화에 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 교육 모듈 개발을 통하여 예비 교사가 현대 대수와 관련된 수학 교육적 측면을 다양하게 경험하도록 지원한다면, 현대 대수 교과목이 어렵고 학교 수학과 연관성이 적다는 인식이 개선될 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to develop an education module related to polynomial equation solving that helps preservice teachers' motivation to learn abstract algebra. Methods Edelson's design research theory was applied to initially develop an education module to include opportunities for preservice teachers to practice teaching mathematics, followed by an experiment with two preservice teachers, and then a final module was developed by surveying two inservice teachers and two experts in teaching algebra to preservice teachers about improvements to the module. Results The results of the experiment showed that both preservice teachers were more motivated to learn abstract algebra after experiencing the module. The two inservice teachers and two experts provided various comments on how the module could be improved and agreed on the need for further research on the development of such education modules for preservice teachers. Conclusions The experiment with preservice teachers have shown that the education module including opportunities for mathematical pedagogical practice is effective in increasing preservice teachers' motivation to learn abstract algebra. The development of such education module to expose preservice teachers to various aspects of mathematics education related to abstract algebra is expected to improve their perceptions of the subject as difficult and unrelated to school mathematics.
