토픽 모델링을 활용한 국내외 상담자 공감 연구동향 분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 토픽 모델링을 활용한 상담자 공감의 국내외 연구동향을 살펴보고 향후 연구 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 방법 2000년부터 2022년까지 상담자 공감과 관련된 국내연구 39편과 국외연구 60편 총 99편 논문 초록을 수집하였다. 수집된 논문들의 초록들을 대상으로 Python 3.8 프로그램을 사용하여 전처리하고 분석을 수행하였다. 전처리를 통해 추출된 키워드에 대해 빈도 분석(TF, TF-IDF)을 실시하고, 그 결과를 시각화하였다. 또한, 키워드를 활용하여 토픽 모델링 분석을 수행하였다. 그리고 추출된 토픽별 주요 단어들을 바탕으로 토픽명을 명명하고, 연구자 2인이 검토를 진행하였다. 결과 키워드 빈도분석에서 TF-IDF의 중요 단어로 국내는 ‘자비’, ‘작업’, ‘동맹’, ‘수준’, ‘소진’, ‘외상’이며, 국외는 ‘student’, ‘development’이다. 그리고 공통적으로 등장한 상위 단어는 ‘동맹(alliance)’이었다. 토픽 모델링 결과 국내는 ‘공감피로와 소진’, ‘공감과 작업동맹’, ‘자기자비와 공감’이며, 국외는 ‘공감 능력 향상’, ‘공감과 치료적동맹’, ‘공감과 상담성과’, ‘마음챙김과 공감’ 주제를 확인하였다. 결론 상담자 공감에 대한 국내외 연구 동향을 통계적으로 분석함으로써 상담자 공감에 다각적인 접근의 필요성을 강조하고, 이를 바탕으로 후속 연구 방향을 제시하는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aims to examine domestic and international research trends on counselor empathy using topic modeling and to suggest future research directions. Methods Between 2000 and 2022, a total of 99 studies related to counselor empathy—39 conducted in Korea and 60 internationally—were collected. The abstracts of these papers were preprocessed and analyzed using Python 3.8. After preprocessing, frequency analyses (TF, TF-IDF) were conducted on the extracted keywords, and the results were visualized. In addition, topic modeling was carried out based on these keywords. Using the major terms identified for each topic, topic labels were assigned and then reviewed by two researchers. Results In the keyword frequency analysis, the important words of TF-IDF were ‘compassion’, ‘work’, ‘alliance’, ‘level’, ‘burnout’, and ‘trauma’ in Korea and ‘student’, ‘development’ abroad. In addition, the most commonly appearing upper word was ‘alliance’. Third, the topic modeling results confirmed the topics of ‘empathy fatigue and burnout’, ‘empathy and work alliance’, and ‘self-compassion and empathy’ in Korea and ‘improvement of empathy ability’, ‘empathy and therapeutic alliance’, ‘empathy and counseling outcome’, and ‘mindfulness and empathy’ abroad. Conclusions The results of this study are expected to be helpful in emphasizing the need for a multifaceted approach to counselor empathy by statistically analyzing domestic and international research trends on counselor empathy and suggesting directions for follow-up research based on this.
