교육신경학에 기초한 집단창의성의 재개념화

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 다양하게 논의되었던 집단창의성의 기존 개념들에 대해 학습자의 뇌를 비롯한 신경계의 작용과 연관지어 교육신경학적 관점에서 재개념화를 시도하고 유용한 교육적 시사점을 제안하고자 하였다. 교육신경학적 관점에서 집단창의성을 재개념화하는 것은 뇌를 비롯한 신경계의 변화에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 개인창의성이 집단창의성으로 이어질 수 있는 유의미한 연결고리를 마련하기 위함이다. 방법 본 연구에서는 기본 검색어를 집단창의성(group creativity)으로 설정하고 국내 연구는 박사학위 이상 논문 및 한국학술지인용색인(Korea Citation Index, KCI) 등재지에 게재된 논문들을 주된 대상으로 설정하였다. 국외 연구의 경우 학술데이터베이스인 Academic Search Premier, ERIC, Education Source, Google Scholar, Web of Science 등을 종합적으로 검색한 후 피인용지수를 참고하면서 동료평가를 거쳐 교차 확인하였다. 그리고 검토된 문헌들에 대해 집단창의성 및 신경학 관련 서적들의 내용과 연관성 및 일치성의 정도를 함께 살펴보았다. 결과 본 연구에서는 집단창의성을 ‘집단 내 구성원들 간 이루어지는 상호작용의 양상이 구성원들 개개인의 신경계 변화에 기반하여 기존의 연결과는 다른 유형으로 재구성됨으로써 새롭고 유용한 아이디어 및 결과물을 산출할 수 있게 되는 집단의 성향이나 능력’으로 재개념화 하였다. 여기서 중요한 점은 집단창의성과 개인창의성 모두 뇌를 비롯한 신경계의 변화에 기반하고 있으며, 집단 내에서 다채로운 상호작용을 가능하게 하는 개개인의 신경계 작용 양상의 변화는 개인창의성이 집단창의성으로 이어질 수 있는 중요한 연결고리가 된다는 점이다. 결론 교육신경학적 관점에서 집단창의성을 신경계의 작용 양상 변화와 연관시켜 재개념화한 것은 개인과 집단 모두 신경계의 모듈성과 연결성을 바탕으로 창의성과 같은 고차적 기능들을 수행할 수 있게 되며, 집단창의성이 집단 내 구성원들의 신경계 변화에 기반하여 개개인의 창의성과 다양하게 이어질 수 있음을 의미한다. 앞으로 학습자들의 개인창의성이 학습자 개개인의 고유한 특성과 어떻게 어우러져 발전하면서 다양한 집단의 창의성으로 이어질 수 있는지에 대한 연구가 충분히 뒷받침되어야 한다. 이를 위해 교육신경학과 더불어 다양한 학문 분야들 간 협업에 기반하는 집단창의성이 요구될 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study attempted to reconceptualize the existing concepts of group creativity that have been discussed in various ways from an educational neurological perspective in relation to the effects of learner brains and other nervous systems, and suggested useful educational implications. The reconceptualization of group creativity from an educational neurological point of view is to provide a significant link through which individual creativity can lead to group creativity based on an understanding of changes in the nervous system, including the brain. Methods In this study, the basic search term was set as group creativity, and domestic research mainly focused on papers for doctoral degrees and higher along with papers published in the Korea Citation Index (KCI). In the case of overseas research, academic databases such as Academic Search Premier, ERIC, Education Source, Google Scholar, and Web of Science were comprehensively searched and cross-checked through peer evaluation by referring to impact factors. Also, the reviewed documents were examined for their degree of relevance and consistency to the content of books on collective creativity and neurology. Results In this study, group creativity was reconceptualized as 'the tendency or ability of a group to produce new and useful ideas and outcomes by reorganizing the patterns of interactions between members of groups into types that are different from existing connections based on changes in individual nervous systems. The important point here is that both group creativity and individual creativity are based on changes in the nervous system including the brain, and changes in the effects of individual nervous systems that create multifaceted interactions within groups become an important link for individual creativity to lead to group creativity. Conclusions Reconceptualizing group creativity from an educational neurological perspective in connection with changes in the effects of the nervous system signifies that both individuals and groups can perform higher-order functions such as creativity based on the modularity and connectivity of the nervous system, and that group creativity can connect to individual creativity in various ways based on changes in the nervous systems of members in the group. In the future, research on how learners' individual creativity can develop in harmony with individual learners' unique characteristics and lead to creativity in various group creativity should be fully supported. For this, group creativity based on collaborations among various academic fields in addition to Educational Neurology will be required.
