대학생 연구 활동 참여가 비판적 사고성향, 학업적 자기효능감을 매개로 인문학 연구 역량 증진에 미치는 효과분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 대학생 연구 활동 참여가 비판적 사고성향 및 학업적 자기효능감을 매개로 인문학 연구역량 증진에 미치는 효과 및 경로를 확인하는데 있다. 방법 전국 인문계열 전공 대학생 317명을 대상으로 인문학 연구역량 진단 40문항, 비판적 사고성향 진단 73문항, 학업적 자기효능감 진단 28문항에 대한 응답과 연구역량 증진 수업 및 프로그램에 참여하는 내용과 빈도에 대한 자료 수집하였으며 SPSS 26.0과 Process Macro 4.0 버전을 활용하여 상관, 위계적 회귀분석을 진행한 후 붓스트랩을 실행시켜 매개효과 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들이 전공 교과 수업을 통해 참여한 논문글쓰기, 연구보고서 작성 참여 경험 및 연구방법 교육 활동 참여의 경우 비판적 사고성향과 학업적 자기효능감을 부분 매개하여 대학생 인문학 연구역량을 증진시키는 효과가 유의하게 나타났다. 또한, 비교과 연구 프로그램을 통해 학생들에게 제공된 논문글쓰기, 연구보고서 작성 참여 경험 및 연구방법 교육 참여 활동의 경우 학업적 자기효능감을 매개하여 대학생 인문학 연구역량을 증진 시키지만 비판적 사고성향은 매개하지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 대학생의 전공 교과 수업 연구모임 및 연구 프로젝트 참여 경험의 경우 학업적 자기효능감 증진시켜 인문학 연구역량을 증진시키는 매개효과는 유의하나 학생의 비판적 사고성향 증진에 영향을 끼쳐 인문학 연구역량을 증진시키는 매개효과는 유의하지 않았다. 또한, 비교과 프로그램으로 진행된 연구모임 및 연구 프로젝트 참여 경험의 경우 비록 대학생 인문학 연구역량에 직접적으로 영향을 끼치는 효과는 있었으나 학생의 비판적 사고성향과 학업적 자기효능감을 매개하여 대학생 인문학 연구역량을 증가시키는 효과는 모두 유의하지 않았다. 결론 대학이 학생의 비판적 사고성향과 학업적 자기효능감을 증진시키는 가운데 인문학 연구역량을 함양할 수 있도록 지원하기 위해서는 첫째 학생들이 논문글쓰기 및 연구보고서 작성, 연구방법 교육에 참여할 때에 해당 교육 내용을 비교과 프로그램으로 제공하기보다 전공 교수자가 학생들에게 학점을 부여하고 교육 질 관리의 책임을 맡는 교과 수업 형태로 전공 지식 숙지와 연계된 심화 학습으로서 연구 활동 수업을 제공해 줄 것을 제안한다. 둘째, 대학생 연구 프로젝트 수업을 개발함에 있어 학생들의 비판적 사고성향이 증진될 수 있도록 교수자는 학기 연속성이 있으며 점진적으로 심화 교육내용을 제공하는 수업을 설계할 필요가 있으며 이를 위해 학년에 따른 연구역량 증진 로드맵 설계가 요구된다고 제언한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of critical thinking disposition and academic self-efficacy between students' participation in research activities and research competency improvement in Humanities for college students. Methods The data from 317 college students enrolled in liberal arts track nationwide were collected in order to measure variables. Hierarchical regression analysis and bootstrapping were performed using SPSS 26.0 and Process Macro 4.0 version. Results The results are as follows. First, the mediating effect of critical thinking disposition and academic self-efficacy was statistically significant between students’ participation in the curricular activities such as writing research papers or learning research methods in major and research competency improvement. The mediating effect of academic self-efficacy was statistically significant between students’ participation in extra curricular activities such as writing research papers or learning research methods and research competency improvement; however, mediating effect of critical thinking disposition was not statistically significant between them. Second, the mediating effect of academic self-efficacy was statistically significant between students’ participation in curricular research meetings or research projects in major and research competency improvement; however, the mediating effect of critical thinking disposition was not statistically significant between them. Especially, none of the mediating effect of critical thinking disposition and academic self-efficacy was statistically significant between students’ participation in extra curricular research meetings or research projects and research competency improvement. Conclusions The results suggest that writing research papers or learning research methods may as well be provided for students as curricular activities with more deepening research contents and continual time interval to improve students' research competency mediating critical thinking disposition. Also, college instructors need supporting continuously by the university in order that they can be qualified and get ready to facilitate the research class seamlessly.
