청소년의 스마트폰 과의존이 우울에 미치는 영향: 공격성의 매개효과와 교사관계의 조절된 매개효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 중학교 1학년생을 대상으로 스마트폰 과의존과 우울의 관계에서 공격성의 매개효과와 교사관계의 조절된 매개효과 분석을 목적으로 한다. 방법 2018 한국아동⋅청소년패널조사 원자료 중 중학교 재학 중인 1학년 2,541명의 자료를 분석에 사용하였다. PROCESS macro 모델 4(매개효과)와 모델 14(조절된 매개효과)를 활용하여 회귀분석을 실시하였고, 부트스트래핑 방법을 통해 각 효과의 유의성을 검증하였다. 결과 스마트폰 과의존과 우울의 관계에서 공격성은 부분매개효과를 갖는 것으로 확인되었다. 즉, 중학생의 스마트폰 과의존은 우울에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라, 공격성을 매개로 간접적인 영향을 미친다. 또한 학생이 인식한 교사관계가 보다 긍정적일수록 공격성이 우울에 미치는 영향이 감소되는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 청소년의 정신건강 문제 예방을 위해서는 스마트폰 과의존과 스마트폰 과의존에 따른 공격성에 대한 개입과 함께 교사관계의 중요성을 고려한 대응이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study examined the mediating effect of aggression and the moderated mediating effect of student-teacher relations on the relationship between smartphone over-dependence and depression among first-year middle school students. Methods Data obtained from the 2018 Children and Adolescent Panel which covered 2,541 middle school students were analyzed using PROCESS macro Model 4 for the mediating effect and Model 14 for the moderated mediating effect, and the bootstrapping method was employed to verify the significance of each model effect. Results It was found that aggression has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between smartphone overdependence and depression. In other words, smartphone over-dependence not only directly affects depression, but also indirectly through aggression. In addition, it was found that the more positive the teacher-student relationship perceived by students was, the less the effect of aggression on depression. Conclusions The results of this study suggest that it is necessary not only to intervene in smartphone over-dependence and aggression caused by it but also to consider the importance of the relationship between teachers and students to prevent mental health problems like depression among adolescents.
