국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 놀이중심 집단상담의 현상을 설명하는 이론적 모형을 제시하여 놀이중심 집단상담의 특징과 그 효과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색함으로써 아동의 건강한 발달을 증진하는 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 방법 근거이론을 활용해 학교 전문상담사의 놀이중심 집단상담 운영 경험을 분석하는 질적 연구방법을 적용하였다. 초⋅중등학교에서 5년 이상 놀이중심 집단상담을 운영한 경력의 전문상담사 5명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하고 개방코딩, 축코딩, 선택코딩을 진행하여 패러다임 모형과 상황모형을 제시하였다. 결과 놀이중심 집단상담은 사회적 기술의 적극적 활용과 자기주도성 획득해나가기의 두 전략을 적용하여 학생의 전인적 발달과 학교적응 및 문제예방을 지원하며, 교사의 학생이해 증진과 학생-교사 관계 개선을 통해 교육공동체를 강화하였다. 이를 위해 집단상담 운영의 안정적 여건 확보와 전문상담사의 역량강화가 필요하였다. 결론 아동의 전인적 발달과 학교적응, 문제예방 및 교육공동체의 강화를 위해서는 놀이중심 집단상담의 적극적 활용이 필요하다. 이를 위해 놀이중심 집단상담에 대한 이론적 토대를 발전시켜나가는 노력이 요청된다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to propose a theoretical model of play-centered group counseling (PCGC) to explain the phenomena and characteristics of PCGC and factors influencing its effectiveness. As a result, ways to promote the healthy development of children have been sought. Methods As a qualitative research method, grounded theory was used to analyze the experience of school counselors’ PCGC operation. In-depth interviews were conducted with 5 school counselors with experience in operating PCGC for more than 5 years in elementary and secondary schools. A paradigm model and a situation model were presented by conducting open coding, axis coding, and selective coding. Results The PCGC achieved the students’ holistic development, school adaptation, and problem prevention by applying two strategies: the active use of social skills and the acquisition of self-direction. In addition, the education community was strengthened by improving the teachers’ understanding of students and improving the student-teacher relationship. It was necessary to secure stable conditions for the operation of PCGC and to strengthen the competence of school counselors. Conclusions Active use of PCGC is necessary for children’s holistic development, school adaptation, problem prevention, and reinforcement of the educational community. To this end, efforts to develop a theoretical foundation for PCGC are required.
