대학생의 자기불일치와 학습몰입의 관계

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 대학생들의 자기불일치와 학습몰입의 관계를 검토하고, 이 관계를 조절초점(향상초점, 예방초점)이 매개하는지를 확인하기 위해 수행되었다. 방법 전국에 거주하는 4년제 대학의 재학생 및 휴학생을 대상으로 2021년 1월 21일에서 1월 24일까지 온라인 설문을 실시하여 300명의 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료의 결과 분석을 위해 SPSS 26.0을 활용해 기술통계 및 상관분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하고, SPSS PROCESS Macro 3.5의 부트스트래핑 방식으로 매개효과의 유의성을 검증하였다. 결과 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기불일치는 향상초점, 학습몰입과 부적 상관을 보였지만 예방초점과는 정적 상관이 나타났다. 향상초점은 예방초점과 학습몰입과 유의한 정적 상관을 보였고, 예방초점도 학습몰입과 유의한 정적 상관이 나타났다. 조절초점과 학습몰입의 관계에서 예방초점에 비해 향상초점이 학습몰입에 미치는 영향이 더 컸다. 둘째, 대학생의 자기불일치가 높을수록 학습몰입이 낮아지는 것을 확인하였다. 셋째, 자기불일치와 학습몰입의 관계에서 향상초점이 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났으나, 자기불일치가 향상초점을 경유하면 억제된 향상초점으로 인해 학습몰입이 오히려 저하되는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 자기불일치와 학습몰입의 관계에서 예방초점의 매개효과는 억제효과를 발생시켰으나 영향이 유의미하여 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 자기불일치가 예방초점을 경유하면 예방초점의 활성화로 학습몰입이 오히려 증가함을 확인하였다. 결론 본 연구에서 대학생의 자기불일치가 조절초점을 경유하면 학습몰입에 미치는 영향의 방향이 달라지므로, 학습몰입을 높이기 위해 자기불일치를 낮추고 향상초점을 높이는 개입이 동시에 필요함을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of self-discrepancy on learning flow in university students and to verify the mediating effects of regulatory focus, including promotion focus and prevention focus, during the implementation process. Methods Three hundred four-year university students who were currently enrolled or on a leave of absence across the country were surveyed through online. The collected data was analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis using SPSS 26.0, and the significance of the mediating effect was verified by the bootstrapping method of SPSS PROCESS Macro 3.5. Results The major results of this study are as follows: First, self-discrepancy showed a significant negative correlation with promotion focus and learning flow, while a significant positive correlation was found with prevention focus. Promotion focus had a significant positive correlation with prevention focus and learning flow, and prevention focus also showed a significant positive correlation with learning flow. As for the relationship between regulatory focus and learning flow, promotion focus had a greater effect on learning flow than prevention focus. Second, the higher the self-discrepancy of university students, the lower the learning flow. Third, promotion focus had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between self-discrepancy and learning flow. When self-discrepancy passed through promotion focus, however, learning flow rather decreased due to the suppressed promotion focus. Fourth, in the relationship between self-discrepancy and learning flow, the mediating effect of prevention focus created a suppression effect. However, the effect was significant and thus partially mediated. When self-discrepancy passed through prevention focus, learning flow rather increased due to the activation of prevention focus. Conclusions The implication of this study is that since the direction of the effect on learning flow changes when self-discrepancy passes through regulatory focus, it is necessary to lower self-discrepancy and increase promotion focus at the same time in order to improve learning flow.
