국악을 활용한 음악중재 연구의 치료적 논거 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 국악을 활용한 음악중재 문헌에 제시된 치료적 논거에 관해 고찰하는 것이다. 이를 위해1997년부터 2021년까지 발표된 연구 중 KCI 등재지에 게재된 문헌 16편을 선정하여 중재연구의 일반적 특성과 중재된 음악경험에 관한 논거의 내용, 민요의 치료적 의미와 속성에 대해 분석하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 분석된 국악중재 연구는 양적 설계, 노인 참여자, 정서 변인의 비중이 높았고, 중재 활동은 가창을 포함한 두 가지 이상의 음악경험을 적용한 연구가 대다수였다. 둘째, 재창조, 창작적, 감상적 음악경험의 분류에 따른 치료적 논거 고찰을 통해 살펴본 바, 임상적 접근은 참여자의 주 호소 문제 및 기능 수준을 고려하여 음악치료 기법과 전통음악의 특징적 요소들을 활용하였다. 셋째, 국악중재 연구에서 민요의 활용도가 높음에 따라 분석된 민요의 치료적 의미는 체화되는 소리, 자동적 사고의 촉진제, 심미적 충족, 한민족의 정체성, 삶의 노래, 놀이의 장에서의 소통과 공감, 화합이었다. 본 연구는 문헌 고찰을 통해 국악의 음악적 특성과 사회문화적 속성이 음악치료 안에서 클라이언트의삶의 질을 증진시킬 수 있음을 살펴보고 정리한 것에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to review the therapeutic rationale for music therapy applying Korean traditional music. The 16 studies were selected from KCI Journal data base from 1997 to 2021. The review topics were focused on the general characteristics of interventions, the rationale reported for selecting the music experience, and the therapeutic meaning and properties of folk songs. The summarized results are followed. First, the general characteristics of music therapy research applying Korean traditional music present high proportion of quantitative research design, elderly participants, and dependent variables of emotional areas. Also, most of the studies applied two or more music experiences, including singing. Second, the clinical approach were utilized music therapy techniques and characteristic elements of traditional music in consideration of the participants’ main complaints and skill levels, as examined through the review of therapeutic rationale, according to the classification of re-creation, creative music experiences and music appreciation. Third, the application of folk songs was highly utilized in the music therapy studies focused on Korean traditional music intervention. Additionally, its therapeutic meanings were analyzed in the following categories: embodied sound, facilitation of automatic thoughts, satisfaction of esthetic desires, identity of Koreans, song about one s life, communication-empathy -harmony in field of playing. In conclusion, this study may be significantly that the musical characteristics and sociocultural attributes of Korean traditional music could be viable in the qualities of life for the clients of music therapy clinical settings.
