대학교 신입생들의 ‘필자로서의 나’에 대한 인식 연구

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 ‘쓰기 효능감, 독자 민감성, 계획성, 교정, 외재적 동기’ 등 다섯 가지 항목에 대한 검사를 통해대학 신입생들 ‘필자로서의 나’를 어떻게 인식하고 있는지 분석하였다. 연구 결과 학과별로 다소간의 차이는 있으나 쓰기 효능감과 계획성 항목의 점수가 가장 낮고, 교정을 비롯한 독자 민감성, 외적 동기는 상대적으로 높았다. 특히 계획성 부분에서 목차를 작성한 후 글을 쓴다는 문항의 점수가 전체 22개 문항 가운데 가장 낮았는데, 이는체계적인 글쓰기 교육 부재의 방증이라고 할 수 있다. 또한 ‘여러 번 고쳐 쓴다’는 항목은 비교적 높은 점수를 기록한 반면, ‘초고 그대로 완성본으로 제출한다’는 응답의 비율이 높게 나타남으로써 고쳐쓰기에 대한 기본 인식이정립되어 있지 않음을 확인할 수 있었다. 대학 신입생들이 가지는 글쓰기에 대한 보이지 않는 저항감과 두려움을 예측하고, 현장에서 해결해 나가는 것은 교수자의 몫이다. 그러기 위해서 이들의 고충을 뒷받침할 수 있는 효과적인 교수전략과 교육과정, 개별적인 지도 방법을 지속적으로 개발하고 상호 공유해 나가야 할 것이다. 그럼으로써 글쓰기 수업에 대한 글쓰기에 대한심리적 저항을 낮추고, 글쓰기에 대한 학습자들의 기대감을 점진적으로 높여나갈 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed how college freshmen perceive me as a writer by examining five items such as writing efficacy, reader sensitivity, planning, proofreading, and extrinsic motivation . As a result of the study, although there were some differences by department, the scores for writing efficacy and planning were the lowest, and reader sensitivity including proofreading and extrinsic motivation were relatively high. In particular, in the planning section, the score of the question of writing after writing the table of contents was the lowest among the 22 questions, which is evidence of the lack of systematic writing education. In addition, while the item ‘rewrite several times’ recorded a relatively high score, the response rate of ‘submit the draft as it is’ was high, confirming that the basic perception about revising was not established. It is the responsibility of the professor to predict the invisible resistance and fear of writing that freshmen in college may have and to solve it in the field. To this end, effective teaching strategies, curricula, and individual instruction methods that can support their grievances should be continuously developed and shared. In this way, I think that it will be possible to lower the psychological resistance to writing in the writing class and to gradually raise the learners expectations for writing.
