국내 음악학 연구의 인용 패턴에 대한 융합적 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 ‘음악학’의 전반적인 연구 동향을 인용 패턴을 중심으로 살펴보는데 그 목적이 있다. 즉, 한국‘음악학’ 관련 논문이 참고문헌으로 어떻게 인용되었는지 다양한 계량서지학적 분석 방법론을 통해 파악하였다. 본연구를 위해 2002년부터 2012년까지 ‘한국학술지인용색인’에 등재된 11개 ‘음악학’ 관련 학술지와 그 학술지에 출간된 논문 1,744편을 대상으로 크게 세 가지 측면에서 인용 패턴을 분석하였다. 첫 번째, 각기 다른 년도에 출간된 논문들의 인용 패턴을 합리적으로 비교 분석하기 위해 국내 ‘음악학’ 논문의 피인용 반감기를 계산하였다. 두번째로, 학술지별로 피인용 패턴을 분석함으로써 각 학술지의 학문적 영향력을 파악하였고, ‘음악학’ 연구를 참고문헌으로 많이 인용한 학술지와 타 학술 분야도 파악하였다. 마지막으로 개별 논문의 인용 분포를 살펴보고 국내‘음악학’ 연구 중 가장 인용이 많이 된 논문과 연구자를 분석하였다. 그 결과, ‘음악학’ 연구의 피인용 반감기는5.2년이며, 성장세보다는 안정세에 접어든 ‘음악학’의 연구 규모와 비교해 그 학문적 영향력은 점점 더 커지고 있었다. 그리고 ‘음악학’ 연구를 참고문헌으로 인용한 논문들의 49%는 ‘음악학’ 관련 학술지에 출간되었고, 나머지51%는 타 학문 분야의 학술지에 출간되었다. 타 학문 분야 중에서는 22%의 인용 논문이 ‘교육학’ 관련 연구일정도로 ‘음악학’ 연구는 ‘교육학’내에서의 영향력이 컸다. 그리고 개별 ‘음악학’ 논문별 피인용 분포를 살펴보면 8회이상의 피인용 횟수가 특이치 (outliers)로 계산되었다. 본 논문의 의의는 KCI 등재지를 기준으로 국내 ‘음악학’의모든 논문을 대상으로 그 연구 동향을 파악한 초기 연구 중 하나이며 ‘음악학’ 연구의 인용 패턴을 분석한 최초의연구라는 점에 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore the general research patterns of Korean ‘Musicology’. Specifically, through various bibliometric analysis methods, this study examined the citation patterns of Korean ‘Musicology’ related articles. To that end, 11 ‘Musicology’ related journals that were accredited in the Korean Citation Index (KCI in short) and 1,744 articles published in these KCI-accredited journals were collected and analyzed as major target of the analyses. Especially, the analyses were conducted from three perspectives. In order to reasonably compare and analyze the citation patterns of more than 1,700 articles which were published in different years, the first perspective focused on calculating the cited half-life of Korean ‘Musicology’ research. The second perspective laid on analyzing citation patterns of 11 ‘Musicology’ journals, including identifying the academic influence of each academic journal through the average citation counts of each journal and examining journals and academic fields where articles citing ‘Musicology’ as references have been majorly published in. The last perspective is to analyze citation patterns of individual articles. Specifically, the citation distribution of individual articles and the most cited articles and researchers were examined. As the results, the cited half-life of Korean ‘Musicology’ is 5.2 years. Even though ‘Musicology’ steadily published constant number of articles from 2002 to 2014, the citations of ‘Musicology’ in the same period kept increasing and were in the track of growth until 2012. Besides, 49% of the articles which citing ‘Musicology’ articles as references were published in ‘Musicology’ related journals, whilst the remaining 51% were published in journals of other disciplines. Among articles of other disciplines which citing ‘Musicology’ articles, 22% were about ‘Education.’ That means more than 70% of the academic influence of ‘Musicology’ was concentrated on ‘Musicology’ and ‘Education’. For the citation distribution of individual ‘Musicology’ articles, the articles cited equal to or more than eight times as references were remarkably highly-cited outliers, compared with the majority of ‘Musicology’ articles. The contribution of this study is that this is the first attempt to assess the citation patterns of Korean ‘Musicology’.
