오정희와 쑤파 시리씽 소설의 여성상 비교 연구

국문 초록

본고는 오정희의 소설 ｢중국인 거리｣와 쑤파 시리씽의 소설 『그 여자의 이름은 분럿이다』를 중심으로 작품에반영된 두 작가의 여성상을 살펴보고 두 작가의 동질성과 개인성을 살펴보았다. 오정희와 쑤파 시리씽은 1960년대 후반부터 창작 활동을 시작하여 50여 년이 넘게 창작 활동을 했다. 오정희는 한국에서 여성의 다양한 광기와 중년 여성의 일탈 등 여성 정체성의 문제를 다루는 작가이다. 이는 오정희의여성 의식이 한국 문학사에 있어서 어떤 위치를 차지하는지를 보여준다. 한편, 태국에서 인간의 문제, 특히 여성의문제에 깊게 파고든 작가로 잘 알려져 있는 쑤파 시리씽은 여성의 정체성을 반영하는 생각을 제시하여 태국 문학사에서 크게 주목받았다. 본고에서는 오정희와 쑤파 시리씽은 여성 인물을 살펴봄으로써 사회로부터 여성으로서의 압력을 받고 있고, 독립을 추구하는 여성의 의식도 작품에서 중요시했다는 것을 알 수 있다. 오정희는 여성의 내면적 괴롭힘 과시와 해방의 필요성에 더 관심이 많았다. 한편, 쑤파 시리씽은 여성을 가부장제 속에서 벗어나 더 나은 인생길로 안내하는 데 중점을 둔다. 그것이 사회에서 이상적인 여성이 아니고 성적으로 학대받는 여성이기는 하지만, 인생 결정을내릴 자유를 가질 수 있다고 제안하고 싶었던 것으로 볼 수 있다. 또한 오정희와 쑤파 시리씽은 여성 인물이 사회적 모성에 반대한다는 사실을 밝히려 한다. 가부장제의 피해자뿐만 아니라 아이를 출산하는 것을 포함하여 확고하게 반대하고 있다. 또한, 두 작가의 작품에서 아버지의 약점 현상이 나타났지만 여성 인물은 무의식적인 폭력으로 분출된 가부장적 이데올로기에 여전히 억압을 받았다.

영문 초록

This paper examined the women s images of the two writers reflected in their work, and examined their homogeneity and personality focusing on Oh Jung-hee s novel The Chinese Street and Supa Sirisingh s novel The Womans Name is Bunrod . Oh Jung-hee and Supa Sirisingh started to create their works in the late 1960s over for 50 years. Oh Jung-hee is a writer who focuses on the issues of female identities, such as the various madness of women and the deviance of middle-aged women in Korea. This shows that her female consciousness stands high in Korean literature history. On the other hand, Supa Sirisingh, who received great attention in the history of Thai literature by presenting ideas that reflect the identity of women, is well known as a writer who deeply explored human issues, especially womens issues in Thailand. In this paper, Oh Jung-hee and Supa Sirisingh were under pressure as women from society by looking at female characters, and womens consciousness to pursue independence was also important in her work. Oh Jung-hee was more interested in the display of internal harassment by women and the need for liberation. Meanwhile, Supa Sirisingh focuses on guiding women to a better way of life out of patriarchy. She wanted to suggest that, although some character is not an ideal woman in society and a sexually abused woman, they has the freedom to make life decisions. Oh Jung-hee and Supa Sirisingh also intends to reveal that they oppose social motherhood as female characters. Both are firmly opposed, including giving birth to children as well as victims of the patriarchal system. In addition, although the father s weakness appeared in their works, the female figure was still repressed by the patriarchal ideology erupted by violence unconsciously.
