겸재 정선의 시점에서 본 우리강산의 사진적 시뮬라크르

국문 초록

우리는 일반적으로 회상하는 과거의 모습을 이상향으로 바라보고, 간직하고 보관하려 한다. 본 논문은 이러한 인간의 바람을 단순히 간직하는 것을 넘어서 실제 자연과 작품에 표현된 이미지를 원본(고정)과 시뮬라크르(변화)의 관점에서 재해석하는데 목적이 있다. 카메라의 시선을 통하여 300년 전 “경교명승첩” 속의 공간을 사진의 공간으로 차용하고, 현재산수의 순간을 포착하였다. 사진 프레임 안에는 오리지널로써 “경교명승첩”에 나타난 지형을 3D 모형으로 조형화하여, 회화 원본을 고정과 변화의 관점에서 재해석하였다. 또한 현재의 한순간을수집·보존함으로써 미래와 소통하는 의미에서 아크릴로 만든 박물관 진열장을 사용하여 모형을고정하였다. 본 연구 과정에서 촬영한 서울의 산천은 겸재 이후 300년의 기간에 걸쳐 크게 변화하였고, 이후에도 어떠한 형태로든 계속해서 변화한다. 이렇듯 현실은 한곳에 고정되어있지 않고항상 유동적이므로 현재 우리 눈앞에 보이는 이미지를 오리지널이라고 할 수 없다. 따라서 인공과자연이 혼합된 풍경은 시뮬라크르이다. 반면 겸재의 진경산수나 본 연구자의 사진 작품은 현재의실재를 이미지의 제작과 함께 고정하여 보존한다. 따라서 관객은 예술작품과 소통을 통해 오리지널을 만나게 된다.

영문 초록

Photographic work is a reinterpretation of the images expressed in nature and in artworks from the perspective of original (fixed) and simulacre (changed), beyond the concept of admiration of the preserved past that we recall as an ideal. From the perspective of the camera, the space in “Gyeong-Gyo-Myung-Seung-Chup,” a landscape painting of scenes near Seoul created 300 years ago, was adapted for photography, and the present moment of the landscape was captured. In the photo frame, as the topography of the original “Gyeong-Gyo-Myung-Seung-Chup” was sculpted into a 3D model, the original painting was reinterpreted from the perspective of fixation and change. Besides, the model was fixed using acrylic museum display cases to communicate with the future by collecting and preserving a moment of the present. The landscape in Seoul photographed in the course of this study has changed significantly over 300 years. It certainly continues to change. As reality is fluid, not being fixed in one place, the image we see in front of us today can no longer be the original. Therefore, a landscape that blends nature and man-made has the character of simulacre. However, Gyeomjae’s Jin Gyeong San Su (natural landscapes) and the researcher’s photographic works have the character of the original by reflecting the present reality as they are and being fixed with the production of the image. Therefore, audiences encounter the original through communication with the artworks.
