공기 관계를 활용한 ‘두렵다’ 유의어의 한국어 교수·학습 방안 연구

국문 초록

외국어로서의 한국어 교육에서 어휘 학습을 통한 어휘의 양적 확장과 질적 향상은 듣기, 말하기, 읽기, 쓰기의 기초가 되므로 어휘의 정확한 의미 변별 및 사용 양상에 대한 이해는 중요한 문제이다. 한국어를 배우는 학습자들이 어휘 학습을 하면서 겪는 어려움 중 하나가 바로 유사한 어휘들을 변별하여 사용하는 문제이다. 특히 학습자의 숙달도가 높아질수록 이전에 배웠던 어휘와 비슷한 어휘가 많이 출현하게 되면서, 학습자들은 기존에 알고 있던 어휘와 어떻게 다른지 구분할 필요성을 느낀다. 이 논문은 세 단계에 걸쳐 이러한 한국어 유의어 교육에 관한 문제를 연구하였는데, 첫 번째 단계에서는 연구 대상 어휘인 ‘두렵다’의 유의어를 선정하고, 각 대상 어휘의 실제 사용 양상을 알아보기 위해 ‘21세기 세종계획 말뭉치’를 바탕으로 ‘두렵다’ 유의어의 개별 공기어를 추출하였다. 두 번째 단계에서는 ‘두렵다’ 유의어와 공기어가 실제로 의미 있는 관계를 나타내는지 살펴보고자 ‘t-점수’를 활용하여 정량적으로 분석하였다. 그리고 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 세 번째 단계에서는 외국어로서의 한국어 교육에 실제로 적용 가능한 ‘두렵다’ 유의어의 교수·학습 모형을 설계하고, 각 단계별 과정 활동을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

In Korean language teaching as a foreign language, identifying exact meaning of vocabularies and understanding their usage are important matter, because expanding vocabularies quantitatively and improving them qualitative are the basis of hearing, speaking, reading and writing. One of the difficulties during the study of vocabularies for students of Korean language is how to differentiate words with similar meanings. Especially for advanced learners who frequently encounter words of similar meanings with the words they already learned, the learners feel a necessity to differentiate words with similar meanings. In this paper, the study on the teaching of Korean synonyms was conducted in three steps. In the first step, the synonyms of ‘duryeopda(두렵다)’ were selected as a subject of the study. To investigate the usage of the selected synonyms, the co-occuring words of the synonyms were extracted based on the ‘21st Century Sejong Plan Corpus.’ In the second step, to investigate whether the synonyms and the co-occuring words have meaningful relations, the quantitative analysis using t-score was conducted. In the last step, based on the analysis, the teaching-learning model for the ‘duryeopda’-synonyms in a real classrom of Korean as a foreign language was designed, and the activities for multiple stages of learning were suggested.
