‘코로나 위드’시대 유아교육공간의 대안으로서 바깥놀이의 가치 재조명

국문 초록

본 연구는 ‘코로나 위드’시대 안전하고 재미있는 놀이를 통해 배움을 실현할 수 있는 공간으로서 바깥놀이의 가치를 재조명하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 공립유치원 만5세 유아 24명을 대상으로 보다 넓은 공간과 안전성을 제공하는 실외에서 제2의 실외교실을 구성하며 유아의 놀이와 배움을 지원하고 있는 2019개정 누리과정 중심 실행연구의 과정을 담았다. 실행연구 결과 첫째, 열린 가능성과 대안적 공간을 마련하는 실외환경은 코로나19로 인해 실종되어가던 유아의 놀이성과 관계성을 되살아나게 하였으며 둘째, 자연 속 실외공간에서 제2의 실외교실을 구성함에 따라 유아의 삶(놀이)과 배움이 어우러지는 미래형 유아교육환경으로서 바깥놀이의 새로운 공간적 의미와 가치가 드러났다. 마지막으로 코로나19 확산 상황에서 현장의 유아와 교사가 실외의 공간에서 대안을 찾아가는 과정을 통해 ‘코로나 위드’시대로의 교육적 전환의 가능성을 발견할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 코로나19로 인해 유아의 놀이성이 위협받고 있는 현 시점에서 유아교육현장에 공간적 대안을 마련함으로써 진정한 의미로서의 유아·놀이 중심 교육과정의 회복과 실천을 가능하게 할 것이다. 본 연구를 통해 새로운 각도에서 바깥놀이가 지닌 공간적 가치를 재발견함으로써 ‘코로나 위드’시대로의 교육적 전환의 계기를 마련하고 유아교육현장에서 진정한 의미로서의 유아 놀이가 되살아나기를 기대하는 바이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to shed new light on the value of outdoor play as a space for learning through safe and interesting play in with the age of covid-19 where living with corona was unavoidable. An action study was implemented by being centered on the revised 2019 Nuri curriculum that assisted young children s play and learning, after a second classroom was prepared for 24 five-year-old public kinder- garteners in the outside that was more spacious than indoors and guaranteed safety. As a result of conducting the action study, the outdoor environment where the alternative space was prepared restored the young children s playfulness and relationship that had been being waned, and turning the outdoor space into a second classroom made it possible to discover the new spatial meaning and values of outdoor play as a future-oriented early childhood education setting where living and learning mingled together among the young children. In addition, it was possible to prepare the transitional opportunity for post-humanistic early childhood education in with the age of covid-19 while the young children and their teacher looked for an alternative in the outdoor space of nature. This study that rediscovered the potential value of outdoor play from a new angle is expected to provide the opportunity for educational transition into with the age of covid-19 . and to facilitate the true revival of young children s play in the educational setting.
